A nice change from the multitude of amazing Asian restaurants along the strip of shops near the Syndal railway station, Al Vecchio Forno is a nice little spot to dine on Italian cuisine. The menu has all the classics, and from what I’ve had(spaghetti bolognese), I’ve enjoyed the experience. The prices are fairly reasonable, and the staff are pretty swiched on. I was impressed by the serving sizes, particularly with the desserts. I thought that the restaurant itself was a bit loud when I was trying to talk to my friend, but I’m pretty hard of hearing, so maybe I’m overly sensitive. Just be advised that if you have a hard time hearing conversation in restaurants, you’ll probably have the same issue here when it’s busy. Not a big deal though. Just nod and go along with whatever your friends are saying. You’ll be too busy enjoying dinner to care. As I sat there, I watched the pizzas coming out of the kitchen, and I can tell you that they looked damn nice. That’ll be what I order next time I’m there, for sure.
