Most people would consider me a hard honest critic… so for me to award 5 stars its rare and this place is just amazing. From great customer service through to the quality of food served. They have a great range to select from too. Highly recommend :-)

Hola, que tal? Muy mal! I’m a food addict and as my girlfriend always says, I love all food. Well, until now! I’m not Spanish, but I lived in Spain for 5 years and I know good tapas when I see them. The food in SPANISHTAPASRESTAURANT is like going to Chipotle for first class Mexican food and pay 50 dollars for a burrito, E. Coli food poising inclusive! I wish I could give 0 stars, but this is not possible. We ordered the Russian salad which was made with old mayonnaise. Normally i always document my food and post it. But this time I was afraid that a picture makes my phone throwing up through the microphone. We also had the gambas and the jamon, cheap quality and not fresh at all, but extremely pricy. It’s a rare combination of super expansive and bad, oily, non fresh food. Except the manager no one seems to be Spanish and he is rudeness is just the cherry of the shit cake. This is an insult for the Spanish cousins and friendliness of this amazing country!

We had lunch here last weekend and almost walked out again as there was nobody there and that can’t be a good sign. I’m glad we stayed, the service was good and the tapas plates we ordered were very nice. It wasn’t exactly cheap but tapas usually never is in Sydney. I would definitely go again and will recommend to friends.

Yeah, no. Ambiance: v rustic, homey, comfortable. Makes you want to be there all night drinking sangria and munching chorizo. Service: v attentive and helpful. Food and drink: they are tempting punters with the promise of a $ 30 per person special of salad, bread and 2 tapas each, plus $ 2 beers, glasses of wine or sangria.(Note: they limit you to 2 bevvies each at the above price, which is really very smart, seeing as two drinks in you’re ready to dip further into your pockets.) There were three of us, so we were given 6 tapas for the table. We ordered: –pork meatballs in red sauce: very bland, and I nearly broke my tooth on a bit of bone(?!?) –calamari: rubbery and flavorless –crumbled mushrooms: see above– not even a dipping sauce was served alongside? –spanish tortilla with spinach: passable– was the best dish of the lot –ham croquettes: gummy and cold –patatas bravas(which I couldn’t wait to try): came inexplicably swimming in red sauce, not the dollops of tomato-kissed aioli I am used to, which equalled soggy, sad potato pieces Wayyyyy better food to be had on GPR. Give this place a miss.

Wow wow wow!!! Service was amazing!!! Loved this place and would come back here again just for the service. So we settle in and ready for a nice night and the waiter comes over with a free jug if sangria from a flyer we received from a lovely lady on the walk to the restaurant. We had the $ 70 banquet which included 6 tapas dishes, a paella and unlimited sangria and beer for two hours for 4 people. Great food, great company, what more could you ask for. I loved this place and would come back here in a heart beat :)

We had seen this place fairly full and came here on a Sunday night expecting it to be a wait but it was virtually empty. It’s a huge place inside and it has the feel of an old place too — if the sticky floors are anything to go by. Waiters were very friendly and attentive — difficult not to be when it’s virtually empty. We ordered a bunch of small tapas and ended up being full by the end of it so four for four was enough. A bottle of wine didn’t go astray. Reading some of the other reviews, perhaps it was the day we came that made it a bit of a so-so experience. We’d consider going back.

Dating a hablas español Argentinian, Spanish food restaurants are always sub-par… but make it a Monday Night ½ price discount and he will walk in the door. Im heading back here in 2 weeks to try the Padron Peppers — the Russian Roulette of food — but apart from that, every other item of the 10 we tried were delectable and absolutely worth the finger sucking deliciousness we savoured! Patatas Bravas with a hint of spice… Chicken Skewer so succulent you could make love to it… kind of… Lamb Skewer that fell off the bone… and skewer! Chorizo with a kint of parsley — dash of olive oil, seared with love! Chilli bread — KaPoW! Herb Bread —(2 helpings please) Crumbed Zucchini — just the right amount of frying to keep moisture in and crispy outer! BUT the winner?! MUSHROOMSINGARLICCREAMSAUCE. I die. Again. And Again. and as I type… I die again. See you back here in 2 weeks… Oh, and why the 4 stars you may ask? Dont deny me Padron Peppers just because they are out of season… You deliver whats on your menu, I’ll deliver a 5th star… The Challenge is on…

After watching a Spanish episode of Rick Stein’s Seafood Odyssey I had the sudden and insatiable urge to get myself some Spanish delights! I was after more than just the typical Spanish tapas that you get at most Spanish restaurants and after having a browse online for what Sydney’s Spanish restaurants had to offer we decided to give Spanish Tapas a go(I know you’re probably thinking I just contradicted myself there but this place actually offers a decent selection of non-tapas Spanish dishes). The food was fantastic(we shared some tapas, the seafood paella, the seafood stew and the churros) and there was a good selection of drinks available, however, our highlight of the evening was definitely the awesomely friendly and helpful staff. They were very attentive and generally just a cheerful bunch and to me that can make a good night great!

Attentive, friendly service, great tapas and sangria and reasonably priced. What is great about this place is the $ 40 per head tapas(3 plates per 2 people) and paella(plus salad and garlic bread) and even better the $ 55 per head menu with unlimited sangria and a heaps of tapas. We got the paella for 4 people, and there was soo much seafood! Really generous portions, we had prawns left over! The desert was a bit average, the Crème Caramel was really bland, and the churros wasn’t very nice. Great place for big groups, it gets a bit noisy especially for couples but overall a nice Spanish tapas place.

Thursday nights are when you absolutely have to come here. It’s so exciting, you can hear the live flamenco music and dancers from the sidewalk as patrons cheer along. I’ve passed this place many a time, yet it never appealed to me because of its humdrum façade. But once I went inside, I could tell that there was more substance than what I had originally thought. I was completely surprised by the performance, as I didn’t expect it in the least! The menu is, obviously, Spanish, and features various tapas plates as well as larger dishes. The paella I ordered was extremely good. The rice was al dente and all the ingredients were great quality. Spanish culture is all about being warm and lively, enjoying life in the moment with friends and family. Tapas is an ode to the Mediterranean lifestyle, cemented by the friendly servers and comfy décor. This restaurant could be the perfect restaurant for a date, a casual dinner, or a special event.

Is it the best Spanish in Sydney? Probably not. Is it tasty? Definitely yes. I always come to Spanish Tapas with a large group of people and try a range of dishes. Favourites include stuffed capsicum, garlic prawns, chorizo and BBQ octopus. Ones not to write home about are the potatoes in garlic sauce, chicken wings, meatballs or tortilla. You can’t leave this Spanish joint without tasting the sangria — it’s good! If you are up for a rowdy night I suggest getting the banquet. It’s $ 55 per person, includes 5 tapas for every two people and UNLIMITED sangria for 3 hours! If that’s not a good deal, I don’t know what is. The service is professional, friendly and non-judgemental(no matter how much sangria you drink) and overall, Spanish Tapas makes for a good night out with friends.

Sometimes atmosphere is almost as important as the food. Spanish Tapas is a place that gives the food a run for its money. With live flamenco shows on fridays and saturdays, and a lively dining room usually filled with groups of people, there is a fun atmosphere at this tapas place. And the food ain’t bad either. The usual favourites such as garlic prawns and mushrooms, chorizo, potatoes in spicy tomato sauce and meatballs are all there. All washed down with jugs of sangria. Perfect! The only misses for this restaurant are the cocktails, which we thought we’ll try while waiting for a table one night. They were not made properly and none of us enjoyed the one we ordered. But then it served us right for ordering cocktails in a tapas place. Sangria all the way! Definitely recommend and try to catch the flamenco show. All good!
