i didn’t even remember the view because i was so busy devouring the food! Some of the best Asian food I had while in Sydney(perhaps because it tastes like Asian American food). I could have gone back every day during my stay, definitely one of my most memorable meals. The décor was like eating in a tacky living room, but I was fine with that, because everything was delicious and the service was outstanding.

When the best thing you take away from a restaurant is memories of the view, that’s not a good sign. The customers of places like these are typically one-timers who want to experience said view, but have nothing much to lead to return. Lien’s is just like that. The terrace at the back of the restaurant is magnificent, as it offers panoramic views of the CBD from the highest point in Glebe. But sadly, this vista was the only thing for me that was memorable about Lien’s. Even though the menu is a fusion of Vietnamese, Thai, and Malaysian cuisine, there isn’t much to suggest any authenticity or uniqueness of any of these cultures. The food is somewhat mediocre, I’d say overpriced, and there really isn’t much décor at all. If I remember correctly, the floors are carpeted(something I find completely unappealing). Though I should say that the service was very kind and attentive. While the service was adequate, my overall dining experience here was unexceptional. I’d go so far to say that this piece of real estate deserves a finer restaurant to take advantage of the stunning view.
