Great European restaurant with large servings, tasty food and nice presentation. Upon arrival, ask for their outdoor seating and you’ll be glad you did. Great for people watching. They also have a Tues-Thurs discount on select meals and for the large size of their portions, you receive pretty good value. We ordered the pork belly which comes with red cabbage and dumplings as well as the roast duck with mashed potatoes. The pork was very tender and nicely presented. The duck was nicely crunchy on the outside and tasty. Both portions was quite large. Overall a great meal and would return.

I’ve been here only once, and my wife and I thought it was ok, but in our opinion for the same money, Tommy’s Beer Café down the street does it all better. And if you want something similar for cheaper, then I would recommend Essen which is a little further away in Broadway. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the food here, but in my opinion(and peoples opinions are different), it always looses out to the other two venues mentioned. I will have to give them another try just to make sure when I went last time, it wasn’t just the chef having an off night, I do hope my next experience is a little better. The service however was top notch, just the food wasn’t anything special when I went and I didn’t think it warranted the price. The drinks menu was still very good.

Apart from the winter chill, there was a pork knuckle craze going on. I stuck with beef cheeks and was sincerely grateful to do so. Delicious and succulent and lots of other superlatives. This is winter food done well. Come here, have beer and eat on an empty stomach, because the eastern Europeans feed you well.

Huge meals. Probably not a great place to come if you avoiding carbs. It was pretty empty the night we were there, but has a nice feel to it inside. Service is attentive but not intrusive.

Such a great place for a fulfilling meal! Definitely my favourite place for Eastern European flavour. First, the staff is quite friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is fantastic. It’s a great space with an authentic but slightly modern feel. There are two levels with a view of the Sydney CBD from the top. The wall mural of the side streets of Prague are so reminiscent of the beautiful country. They also have such a large selection of European beers and spirits that you just can’t find anywhere else. Finally, the meal portions are more than generous and impressively tasty! I usually order one of the two schnitzels and am always satisfied! A recommended meal is definitely the Bavarian feast platter. A taste of everything, from the lovely roasted duck, to the crackling pork belly and of course, the schnitzel. Everyone I’ve eaten with loves it, even the picky eaters! Eating here is really a special treat!

Make sure u come with an appetite. Phew… I’m stuffed. Had the pork knuckle and there was no way I could finish. I’ll be back to eat the rest. ;) A great looking place with gentle staff and interesting accents. I highly recommend coming here. Bring a friend. Oh… Have the apple cider.

Lazy Sunday lunch, great pork knuckled and good choccy moose. I’d love to go back with a group of mates and show this place off.

Very pricey but excellent ambiance, food quality and drink selection. This is perfect for a date or a late night dinner out with friends

Great restaurant with a great atmosphere. La Boheme has a gorgeous spot hidden in the old post office building in the hub of Balmain. It has created a little piece of Prague. The beautiful courtyard and the loft restaurant transport you instantly. The dim lighting, litre steins and smell of roasting meat helps too. I’ve been here a few times and just love it. The food is mainly eastern European cuisine(think pork knuckle, schnitzel, roast duck and sauerkraut) ie, comfort food. The servings are huge and delicious. Everything on the menu is wonderful, although I admire anyone who has the stomach capacity to even attempt 3 courses. I can only handle a main(around $ 30 – 35) and a litre of beer($ 14.50)! This is a really great place to catch up with friends, eat like there’s no tomorrow and drink like a fish(a classy well composed fish of course). *apparently the Men’s bathroom is a treat. You’ll have to visit to find out.
