Awesome place to get necessary and fun items for super cheap. Definitely wayyyy better than the Kmarts in the states!

Probably one of the best kmarts in NSW. Located conveniently in the Broadway shopping Center. First and foremost, you can find most of the time cheapest prices for almost all of the household items. Secondly this store is open daily till 12 a.m. It has saved me on numerous occasions when I needed something desperately. Was freezing once in the winter and got a heater at 11, p.m. Pretty spacious place and quite easy to find things. Staff is also quite efficient and friendly.

Kmart used to be average selling broken things for astronomical prices. All of a sudden in 2010 they killed that lazy public servant inside them and become awesome by: 1. Increasing store hours from a 5pm close with 3 hour lunch break to opening 24 hours. This meant they now served the entire community from dole bludgers, housewives, workers and drunks. It also means that if you’re giving birth the next day and the night before you forget your camera isn’t working, you can buy a camera and still have those Kodak moments. 2. Dropped the prices, now for the cheap Chinese made goods, you pay the cheap Chinese price not Chinese price plus ridiculous mark-up like before. 3. The made all prices integer denominations, meaning you can count the total easier and the ditzy 50 year old sales assistant doesn’t fumble around with the change value time return. 4. They cleaned up the place. unless you are in bankstown where kids run around with leashes attached, Kmart now has things in shelves not in floors which previously smelt of urine. 5.they trust you to scan your own items now and have paywave, meaning you can get out of the store in around the same time your cheap China item with probably break on you. However, in the Broadway store be mindful when you try to exit there is the most annoying security guard who will pretty much strip search you even when you show hi your receipt. I think he’s a piece of deadwood they couldn’t fire due to inflexible public sector employment contracts. Note this store no longer opens 24 hours, the drunks and ghosts were likely highly unprofitable. But they do still open till midnight every night. So if you’re giving birth tomorrow, hopefully your camera is in working condition by 11:30pm the night before.
