My sister stay in this hotel on New Year Eve, something should have click when everywhere else in Sydney there were no vacancies or $ 800+ per night and yet this hotel had a couple of vacancies. We arrived: The out side: very very run down, I said don’t stay here come to my hotel we can squeeze in together, but she still went in because she thought she paid for the night and it would not be that bad inside(WRONG) it was WORSE. *There was no permanent number on the door, just a paper with a number. *Walked in and the only widow in the room a person needed to get on the chair but when you did all you could see was the hallway(no not the sky). *She wanted to take a shower before she went out for New Year’s Eve. There was no way she was going to step into this shower. They must have grouted the shower with mould and dirt.(photo available for interested people). Outside her room was a trolley that housed the towels I would think are for other guest of the hotel. You could understand why she was not in a hurry to go back to the hotel that night/morning. She was so upset. Reading other comments when we came back home, I and other can understand why my sister Lisa felt the way she did about this disgusting hotel. This hotel should be ‘half a star’ if any star at all. Who ever gives out star rating should be more careful as not to mislead potential travellers and hotel guest when giving stars to the hotels. Many people just look at the star rating when making a decision, which hotel they will stay and of-course the price, not everyone looks at comments before making a booking and paying for it. This hotel is far from cheap in price so you should at least expect a clean room, no bad smells from any where and unexpected things in bed, no wholes in floor of the room and be able to have a shower without the fear of getting some deceases from the condition of the shower. From now on I will recommend always look a comments from other guest before making a booking. Don’t rely on the star rating as it does not always reflect the condition of the hotel. I tried to find good in this hotel, but struggled to find good things. I would not and will not recommend this hotel not even it is free.

Value for money in a great location. Friendly staff, decent rooms that were always well presented. If you are doing sydney on a budget this is definitely worth checking out.

The Good: * $ 99 for a standard room. Pretty inexpensive considering its proximity to the city, and I have yet to find anywhere in Sydney that can compare to the price and quality of these rooms. Definitely a hidden treasure! * The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and shower was hot. * Conveniently located within walking distance to the city, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel relaxed. * $ 15 secure, undercover parking– a definite bonus in Glebe, where street parking is scarce and expensive. * 24-hour friendly and helpful reception service * A small, but beautiful outdoor pool area(heated in winter). * DVD player in room, with one free rental, and $ 5 for each additional rental. The Bad: * Noise– the street noise can be pretty intense thanks, in large part, to Sydney Busses. And our room wasn’t even facing Glebe Point Rd, but an adjacent, seemly quitter street. Nonetheless, the constant drone of busses made sleep a little difficult, and television volume impossible to control! * Internet charges– if you’re like me, free wifi is a big bonus, and something I think we have all come to expect for free in certain places. The staff at New Haven are obviously not aware of this because their rates are ridiculously expensive. 1 hour= $ 5 6 hours= $ 12
