When I was kid my parents had memberships at this Club and we would go down here often on weekends with our speed boat to do some casual water skiing or use the skim board. Sometimes we would just go for a drive up and down in the boat. There is lots of dolphins near this part of the rover and we one day we managed to get up close and swim with one. I don’t recommend it as they are wild animals so to speak, but this one really gave us no choice as everytime we tried to get on our surfboards behind the boat the it would come up and bump the board to throw us off into the water then come up to play. Anyway childhood memories aside… I revisited here very recently as a mate hire dit for his 40th birthday party. It has changed quite a bit over the years but still a lot of the old is there, especially some of the old photo’s hanging in the clubhouse. Plus it has nicer grassed area’s near the water and a fantastic new verandah on the clubhouse. It was really cheap for him to hire the venue for a full 24 hours, which gives plenty of time to set up, have a party and clean up the next day. Plus it’s really out in the middle of nothing as far as no people anywhere, so noise is no issue, make as much as you want. Also since he had booked the venue we also had the option of camping on the lawn overnight if we wished, great news for all the drunk people. Check out their web site if you want to go watch some boat racing. It’s a great fun family day out doing something different but there is only a round on here every couple of months so check their calendar online and plan for it.
