This is a great place to be on Saturday night, A couple weeks ago, some friends and I went there to try out something different. We just came in and ask for a table, and we got it, although we had not made a reservation, on Saturday night, its a kind of thing that you may find almost impossible! Staff was very friendly, affordable and tasty food. The bonus was the belly dancer going around each table, inviting people to join her, fun!

This place is a refreshing addition to the Fremantly mix of Italian, Indian and Mexican restaurants. I travelled to Morocco a few years ago and have been looking for somewhere that does decent Moroccon food since. Well? Tada! The only reason there is a star missing is due to the cost of the menu. Although I can undersand the high cost of Tagine meals due to their slow-cooking nature and ingredients, I was disappointed by the price of bread and dips as I was really looking forward to it and simply couldn’t afford to do both. The décor of the restaurant is beautiful and places your eyes, nose and mouth in the foothills of the Atlas mountains or in the coastal villages of the north. The food is consistently delicious. for anyone out there looking to impress on a first date or even a romantic night out, you can’t really go wrong with Kaza Blanca. Finish the evening with a shisha pipe and doddle on home happy, full and relaxed.

I find it very hard to find a place that surpasses the exquisite meals that I’ve had at Darling Harbour’s Sumac, by far my favourite Mediterranean restaurant. However, Kaza Blanca almost nudges them off their perch. After having coffee across the road one night and failing to find any gluten free options in Gino’s, me and my dinner dates discovered Kaza Blanca down an alley way next to Soho Burgers. Décor wise, they’ve gone to town on the Oriental theme. Am I in Australia? Am I in the Middle East? The kind waitress’s British accent almost sends me into multicultural over drive. There are silks and patterns and artwork fit for a Sultan’s lair. It’s a difficult choice where to sit, inside at one of those throne-like chairs? Or outside on some cushion-y stools? Outside it is — we have some serious shisha to smoke. When it comes to menu items, I’m always very, very skeptical about portion sizes. Kaza Blana’s prices are around $ 20+, so I made sure the meal was of a decent portion. It certainly was. Being gluten intolerant and vegan, I found it very easy to find items on this menu that wouldn’t send me running to the bathroom. The vegetable tagine sounded good, but I decided upon a starter of dips to share, and a mixed plate of lentils, falafel, hommus and foutoush salad. I was also drinking a very strong cocktail, and everything that I ate or drank here was incredibly delicious, filling, and intoxicating(whether of the alcoholic or aromatic variety). Unfortunately, I’m knocking off a star because they took forever with my dinner dates’ drinks, and there was hardly anyone in the place. However, they were very, very attentive to my allergenic needs and triple checked my order. Very much appreciated! To finish of the extravagant meal, we shared some peppermint Shisha. I’ve never had Shisha before, so I can’t really compare their wares to anywhere else. I can tell you that it was incredibly light, refreshing and relaxing. if you’re after something different from Fremantle’s usual modern Australian fare, definitely take a wander down to Kaza Blanca for an oriental meal.

This restaurant is awesome. As soon as you walk in you feel like you’re in some Moroccan bazaar, with draped silks hanging from the walls and ceiling and shisha pipes dotted all over the place. The staff are all super friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need and recommending things. We had the mixed dips platter to start, which is totally delicious. You get freshly baked breads, a plate of olives and four dips — hommous, mousaka, baba ganoush and… I don’t know know what the fourth was, but it was tasty. After that, I had the lamb tagine royal and my friend had the seafood tagine. They were both really good — the seafood tagine was light and subtle, so that it didn’t overpower the flavours of the fish, prawns, mussels and squid, and the lamb was tender, in a rich, tangy sauce. The portions were pretty massive and I couldn’t quite finish mine, even though I tried my very hardest — I hate leaving food! We followed up our meal with a lemon and lime shisha pipe — a perfect end to a ruddy good meal. I heard on the grapevine that at the weekends they have belly dancing — I went on a Tuesday, but I think I’ll definitely have to go back on a Friday or Saturday for a proper Moroccan belly dancing jamboree.
