Chinese comes in two varieties, one is take away store with a low quality dine in added last minute & the other is great dine in and only does take away due to demand. Joy Kitchen is the latter. I love eating in here than any other Chinese in Perth. Lovely service & great location. The food has all the favourites you know and a few small variations. I have done takeaway abit & their plasticware leaks every time. Food is good just that my car needs a wash each time I dare get takeaway.

Just love this place. A little hectic at times but it’s polished western chinese and upmarket for most chinese restaurants around. You can’t go wrong here and great for a couple or large tables. The steamed Barramundi is a winner!

I was expecting so much more after reading all the reviews. But got an overall disappointment about the food which was ok but nothing amazing. I thought I would try something different and ordered the Chilli Pepper Soft Shell Crab which was tasty but dry, a sauce or some vegies on the side would have probably helped. Service was friendly but slow and it was very very noisy, the four of us struggled to keep up with our conversation and it was a relief to go out of the place! That was a Sat night so that probably wouldn’t happen on a weekly evening.

We were there last week, with all the excitement around the Xmas period I hadn’t had time to write a review. We have driven past this Restrauant so many times not really knowing what food would be served, well it’s Chinese and I would say absolutely beautiful, the only downfall were waited over an hour for the main courses, well worth the wait. We would make this a must once again as we are from the north side, restaurant was a surprise package.

Joy Kitchen is a fantastic chinese restaurant! my partner and I were in perth for a couple of nights and wanted to catch up with 10 friends for dinner… and we were absolutely crazy for quality chinese food! We work away… and sometimes you just crave stuff… and Chinese happened to be it… Whilst Perth does have an abundant choice of Chinese options, we have found that once you add«quality» to the equation the price seems to double for the same size serving of fried rice you can get at your local… Having been to Joy Kitchen before, and the prices were great then we thought we would give it ago… Chinese is always funny with our friends as somehow over the years, we have managed to assemble a high proportion of vegetarians and many chinese restaurant have a narrow selection … but NOT Joy Kitchen. … many vego choices so the meat adverse felt sufficiently satisfied as well !!! Great atmosphere, awesome service… Our group vowed to come back soon…

Best Chinese I’ve had. Eat here once a month and am never disappointed. Yum yum yum! Try the sizzling Mongolian lamb or the duck in plum sauce.

After reading up I had expected more. The food is ok, lots of sugar and batter dishes. But not spectacular, and quite pricey $ 25 to $ 30 per dish. We went on a Saturday evening, service was very slow and the noise made it hard to carry a normal conversation. There were quite a number of birthday party groups. I won’t be coming back, too noisy and not exactly value for money for casual dining.

For months I have driven past their windows on Marine Terrace wondering why they are so full, and now I know why. What a great place. The food and service is awesome at Joy Kitchen. The place has a buzz. The décor has a modern edge that is not in your face like the usual Chinese hovels that glorify noodle dishes with fading posters and irrelevant lucky charms! No, this place has a more upmarket feel… probably explaining the upward direction on prices, but it is worth it. My meal was not too much and not too little. Veggies were crisp not over cooked. I left the place feeling well-fed and happy. You will need a reservation so try to plan ahead to get ahead.

Problem with the Joy Kitchen is that after you eat there you can’t eat at the local Chinese, it just won’t measure up. It’s been in Fremantle for 10 plus years and the food is as good as ever. The restaurant is a busy as ever as well. I cant recall anyone ever saying a bad word about it. Prices have been creeping up but you get your monies worth, quality produce, prepared perfectly.
