Ho’s Fruit And Vegetables

Having not grown up in Western Australia, a place well known for their gourmet produce and love of quality food, I wasn’t very well acquainted with the whole concept of going to market. That’s what I have my chain supermarkets from, duh. In a genuine bid to embrace home cooked meals, organic eating and basically just stop eating canned things from Coles, Fremantle Markets seemed like the best place to go and change my ways. These markets are over a decade old and house a variety of different stalls call this place home, selling anything from organic soaps, to gourmet flavoured coffee, to vegetable peelers, candy, vintage clothing and jewellery.
But back to the food.
Fresh food from markets is generally either hit or shit. I’d like to say that all of The Hall’s vendors are providing tip top fruit and veg for the people of Fremantle, but unfortunately, this isn’t so. When I buy my food from Fremantle Market’s, I always head straight to two stalls, and one of them is Ho’s. Of all the stalls, Ho ‘s vegies are the best quality, and the best price. They’re not often bruised and the guys who work there always help you with your bags. I usually end up getting about three full bags of fruit and veg for between $ 20 and $ 30. Not mad.
