I don’t have enough words yet for how great this place is. I just got home from my appointment and I am so happy with my cut– I looked at my hair in the rearview all the way home: D
The stylist (so sorry to have forgotten your name, love! You were great!!) was just everything I wanted. She was really friendly and we talked nonstop from the minute I walked in to the minute I left. She seemed comfortable in the space and was greeting everyone who came through the door, which I know is a weird thing to comment on but it gave the impression that she actually likes her job. And most importantly, when I sat in the chair and said «I want to look young professional, but creative, and I want it short,» she played it cool and confident. She did an absolutely lovely job.
Also, they worked with my budget so that when I walked out I had paid exactly how much I was expecting to. I called for an appointment and said I was on a budget, they told me they do student rates on Fridays (they’re really close to Notre Dame). I was a little nervous about having to bring up the discount or give some kind of proof but it was written in right next to my name so there was no problem.
Fubar Hair Collective is such an unexpected pleasure. I’ll be back (probably for the free fringe trim they offer!) and can’t wait!

Fubar is a hair salon that is a little different to the rest. The salon has a wicked mod style with large framed posters of Blondie and bright orange couches, it is a funky place to hang out at. The two ladies who run the place have great personal style and are amazing at helping you create the look you want for your hair. They listen to what you are after and have fun creating something a little different to the regular cut and blow dry.
