I’m surprised to find reviews for this place from 2012 as I haven’t noticed it until recently. The exterior took me back to an European laneway café. The selection is appealing with various patisseries goodies. But upon our first taste of our order(iced caramel latte, hazelnut latte, two gluten free brownies) everything was way too sweet. We couldn’t taste the coffee. The brownies left me questioning the ingredients. Sadly while the atmosphere is awesome, our palate is left unsatisfactory, we actually left our drinks half untouched.

I introduced my son to the wonders of the éclair at Belle Époque, he laughed when I told him we were eating ‘shoe’ pastry! Love the recycled mirror wall and olde worldly feel. Coffee average.

Belle Epoque Patisserie transports me from the funky Emporium in the Valley, directly back to the sweet streets of Paris. All that’s missing are beautiful french women and an ocean of push bikes with baguettes hanging out of the basket. Belle Epoque is a patisserie and a coffee hot spot. My favourite thing to do is swing by early on my way to work and treat myself to a cheeky breakfast of pistachio macaroons and a café au lait. The sweet treats are delicious with a selection of cakes, tarts and eclairs delicious enough to make any sweet-toothed passer by swoon. For something a bit special, have a piece of the lemon meringue gâteaux. Belle Epoque also do cakes and sweets to order for special occasions, so keep them in mind if you have a birthday, engagement, or that special day coming up any time soon. If you treating yourself is in order and you’re a fan of the deliciousness from the streets of Paris, then make it your business to head to Belle Epoque for some unrivaled French bliss.
