This is what a neighborhood café should be like! I wandered inside and was promptly greeted by a friendly man(perhaps the owner?) who asked how he could help me. After I was seated, a girl came with the menus asking if I wanted to order a drink to start with. They have breakfast all day… it was around 10:15AM, and I was in more of a lunch mood, so I ordered the pollo ripieno from their lunch menu(free range chicken, stuffed with baby leek, garlic prawns, grilled & oven baked, served in kalamata olive pan juice, with potato gratin & vegetables.) I had an appointment at 11AM and I remember being worried that I shouldn’t have gotten something baked as it’d likely take a while. Fortunately, it came out after around 10 minutes despite the fact that the place was relatively busy. ITWASAMAZING. The chicken was really tasty — a good mix of being slightly toasted on the outside but still flavorful and not dry — and the juice went well with the chicken and veggies. The baby leek and garlic prawns were yummy and provided a good contrast to the chicken. The potato gratin might’ve been one of the best I’ve had, with the bottom forming a yummy toasted-cheesy base. Good food, great service — everyone seemed so happy to be working there. Good vibes all around!
