Canada Bay Club

Had a delicious smal roast pork meal (again forgot to pic it first *sigh*), with mum using birthday points as a member … now having cuppucino in «Bite Size» Café … mum was eyeing off larger than usual lamington but resisted.

I had a pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, awkward time here at Canada Bay Club. Roped into a sales pitch type of event, I was expecting a large presentation in one of the upper function rooms. Which was what we got, except we were then ushered to another doorway. And I thought, «great, this must be the really big room!». Except, as we turned the corner it was a tiny table with seven seats. And thus began the next three hours of my life.
Now, none of this factors into my review of Canada Bay Club. In fact, if you had a small function to hold (Bilderberg world domination meeting/​Mafia ‘made man’ ceremony/​Shriner convention) then this space would probably serve fairly well. What I am reviewing is the dinner we were served: the steak was served with a non-​committal mushroom and pepper sauce, as best as I could tell, and the chips and salad were both soggy. Neither of which is particularly appetising. I wouldn’t have finished it if our hosts weren’t watching.
As for the remainder of the venue, this is an RSL and you know what to expect, from the annoying sign-​in process onwards. At a pinch, this could do for an event, but you probably have better options if you plan ahead.
