I have such good memories of hanging out at Tandoori Times last summer. Warmer weather particularly suits this restaurant as it’s much nicer to sit out the front on Gertrude St than it is to sit inside its long and fairly plan dining area, but I have no doubts that the food is excellent all year round. And with prices like these, you can really go to town. It’s a good place to drag a bunch of friends and a few bottles of wine and just order to your heart’s content. Vegetarians are absolutely sorted and my vegan friends found plenty they liked and were able to get naan cooked in oil instead of butter and all that stuff. Try the Paneer Bhurji from«grandma’s recipe» — spicy cottage cheese, green chilles, tomatoes, peas and onions cooked in dry curry style. Actually, there are more spicy vege dishes here than in most Indian restaurants, which is an abolsute plus in my book.
