Shan’s Milk Bar takes up the space of what must have been two very tiny shops to make a very average sized milk bar. By the counter, it’s mostly lollies, chips, chocolate, cold beverages and ice creams. In the next room is where you find your household and general groceries such as tinned goods, toilet paper, two minute noodles and cleaning products. It also sells your usual selection of phone deals. None of the prices are market on the shelves, so you hit the register a bit on the blind side, but this is nothing unusual. The demeanour of the people behind the counter is always a tad brusque, but they get the job done. They advertise takeaway, but it’s unclear of what variety and I’ve never had the need to ask.
