For some reason from the outside I didn’t expect much of this newsagency, but they actually have a decent variety of magazines, cards, small gifts, stationary, and tattslotto. They staff are quite happy to leave me browsing through the magazines, or are happy to help if I have any questions. They have all my weekly mag fixes, and never seem to run out of the newspaper(I hate running from shop to shop searching for the paper because nobody has it). I’d recommend if you’re passing.

Borders might have closed down, but this sizeable local establishment is still going strong. With a huge collection of magazines and newspapers, Fitzroy Newsagency is the best shop for reading materials for kilometres around it. You’ll know it by the gossip-mag boards out the front, but never fear, there are more interesting titles inside, as well as a large range of stationery products and everything else you’d expect from a newsagency. It’s also directly across from the city-bound 112 tram stop, making it the closest place to grab a Metcard and a Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup for the journey.
