With the Eastwood Shopping Centre shop closed down, BBQ One’s main street branch offers about 15 to 20 seats. It’s not the cleanest nor best service-oriented place in Eastwood but if you’re willing to look past that, I would describe the food served as Chinese soul food. Rustic dishes done well and that pack a lot of flavour and contrast of texture. All this at a very reasonable price point, if you’re just hungry, what more to ask for? CHINESEBBQSTYLEMEATSONRICE All the meats(soy chicken, BBQ pork) were above average, but the roast duck and crispy roast pork really shined here. The potion of rice and side of veggies meal is great value. SEAFOODCLAYPOT Delicious warm fish stew-like dish perfect to eat with plain rice. The sauce was rich and viscous, fish fillets chucks, prawns and calamari all cooked well and if you’re a fan of tofu that’s just the cherry on top. SPICYSPARERIBS These were freshly fried, excellent batter and seasoning that included five spice, shallots, sliced chilli and spring onion. The meat inside thinly cut and cook to melt in your mouth. FREESOUP The soup starter is free, tasty stock served with white beans delicious and free. Conclusion It might look like any Chinese style BBQ place with the meats hanging in front window but it does deliver. If you cannot get a seat, take away is always an option and they are 90% consistent on the meat section. Forget Taste of Shanghai across the road, this is real Chinese food. @thesydneynoob

I am a big char siew(BBQ pork) fan. They have the best char siew and roast duck in the area. It’s a tiny place which seats probably up to 20 ppl(max). Service is okay(you dont expect great & friendly service in this sort of place). They seat you quickly(unless the shop is full then you will be put on waiting list), you order, the food come in few minutes, you eat and they expect you to pay then leave. No sitting around chatting IYKWIM. We come here for a quick fulfilling lunch. My fave is BBQ pork & roast duck rice(all served in one plate with chinese green veggies). I usually take away $ 10 worth of BBQ pork to make a big batch of fried rice at home.
