OK so this review is based upon the coffee alone, which I got as take out from here. I tried a flat white and it was pretty good. I’ve definitely become accustomed to a good coffee since emigrating to this lovely place and cannot abide by a dodgy coffee. In fact I will even go back and complain on occasion, or throw it away if it is burnt. After all a bad coffee can really start your day off on a wrong note. Luckily my day kicked off here with a feeling of yea, not bad for a Monday. The café itself was ok, it had a nice ambience. Service was a little laboured but friendly enough, prices average. I would come back again and maybe try the food next time. All up an average, but by no means bad three stars.

A friend took me here expecting a completely different type of bar/café — fooled in by the ominous 100% positive Urbanspoon score(alas the establishment only had one written review on there but 14100% ratings … hmm.), and it is not particularly an experience I wish to relive any time soon. Probably a completely adequate café to visit for a sandwich for lunch if you work in the area, but the dark and dingy inside table section with magazines sprawled out around the place does not display qualities of a venue I’d be keen to return to. I had a ham and cheese roll with a green salad on the side and their quality was parallel to the quality of the rest of the establishment: not great.

This café was the result of someone taking over The Jellybean café and I can honestly say that it’s gone downhill. They carry Campos coffee, which to me, is not the best coffee out there and the coffee always ends up being lukewarm instead of hot. The chai is just packet chai which is quite normal in the smaller cafes but it just isn’t a good tasting packet! The food is just your average café food, nothing spectacular. The staff is not very friendly either and when I have ordered a few coffees in the past, they tend to talk so quietly to the customers that I have a hard time hearing pricing, etc. Either they need to shape up or ship out!
