Just Cakes

Situated next to a high school in a little local shopping area (deli-​style). Was used to high school students? (Sign saying leave school bags & helmets outside) Went in for just a regular cake at 2pm on a weekday. There were only 6 cupcakes left in two flavours so i thought i’d buy 4 of them & leave 2 for others since there was still 3 hours till closing. The girl started putting each one in a paper bag, I asked if there was a box or something to put them all in & she replied «We have boxes, but not for 4 cupcakes». Was a little upset, especially since I had to walk out carrying four individual cupcakes in paper bags. For $ 3.50 a cupcake at least a plastic bag or large paper bag to hold them all would be appreciated.
I do have to say that they didn’t taste too bad. The actual cake itself is quite dense & moist (if you’re looking for fluffy & light cakes, look elsewhere). However, the icing is also quite rich so the two combined does seem a little overpowering, but all in all a decent cupcake.
Don’t think i would head out of my way again to purchase, but if I was in the neighbourhood, would pop in. Seems more suited to wedding cakes & planned trips or after school cupcakes (high school students) than last minute cake ideas.

I’m so disappointed with Just Cakes. Today was my Daughters first birthday and I booked, confirmed and payed a deposit for a Barbie Cake over month ago. Today my husband went to pick up our cake and they simply ‘forgot’ to make our cake. Not much of an explanation just a sorry. They left us with 2 hours to find a birthday cake on a Saturday. I didn’t get my deposit back and just so livid with this place I would not recommend this place to anyone, do you want this to happen to you? I would have never expected this from a cake store.
