My girlfriend and I wandered in here on Saturday about lunch. It was a very pleasant summer day, blue skies, perhaps a tinge too warm, and we walked in to see some friends already sitting there, an unexpected surprise. After saying hello to them, the staff then greeted us politely, seated us, and brought us the specials board(as in, the board, the big huge thing!) and leant it on the table opposite. It’s a beautiful café, an old cottage done up, not quite ‘hipsterfied’ but fitting in well with the leafy, prestigious streets of Dulwich. The menu was extensive and reasonably well-priced. For drinks, we ordered an iced chai and an iced latte, both very tasty, but both needing a good stir before drinking. For food, I had a smashed avo on sourdough with greens, chili and feta. Delicious and great for the stomach. My girlfriend had the bacon and eggs in foccacia. The staff were nice enough to swap the cheeses, to give her goats curd at no extra cost. Later, after we’d enjoyed ourselves, the owner came over and we got talking. He also owns Long Lost Friend in Magill, and another café down south(Goodwood Road way), the name of which I’ve forgotten. Very nice fellow. He advised that normally it is much busier – and when coming again, we should book! So, would we come back? Yes! Recommended.

What a great find! My friend, Mirella, brought me here a few days ago for a coffee and a shared orange polenta cake. Oh my! Needless to say it has haunted my dreams since, so today after a hard workout my husband and I biked over for lunch. The first thing that strikes you while approaching from Kitchener Street is the lush, inviting covered wrap around porch; there is plentiful and adequately spaced tables located here(so as not to be forced to overhear unwanted convos). Next, upon entering this clean and tidy cottage you will notice three separate distinct seating areas: the main dining area, a smaller dining area tucked away by the kitchen and pastry counter, and a delightful and welcoming covered deck. We were promptly greeted by one of the friendly staff and seated straight away. Tap water, glasses, and menus were waiting at the table and after an appropriate amount of time our order was taken and special requests confirmed. This place is really busy but it seems well managed; the staff is very attentive without being intrusive. As we waited for our order we noticed the bustling and efficient staff who worked like a well oiled machine — dirty dishes were quickly removed from tables, additional carafes of tap water were dropped off without being asked for, and patrons seemed relaxed, very happy, and satisfied. By meals’ end we, too, were among those happy people. My husband ordered a sandwich that I struggle to recall the name ;(it was a hearty sandwich made from perfectly toasted sourdough, grilled chicken breast meat, swiss cheese, garlic aioli, a mix of tender and flavourful greens, and crispy bacon. I ordered the smashed avocado with feta on the same delightfully prepared sourdough. It, too, came with a generous portion of greens. We could not be happier with our newfound neighbourhood brekkie place. AND there is a coffee loyalty card to boot!

So fast, so good! Family brunch on Sunday started with a friendly greeting at the door. Coffee came out almost immediately and was super tasty. The menu had breakfast all day and a wide range of choices from pancakes, eggs pretty much any way you could expect and a mega breakfast. Food arrived very quickly and was excellent. Family brunch for less than $ 90. Win!

What a busy little place this is! With good reason too. A ‘good morning’ from all the staff as soon as you walk in makes you feel very welcome & gives off a great vibe straight away. The menu has so many delicious things to choose from & the mouthwatering cakes in available were impossible to resist! Can make out for quite an expensive(but worth every dollar) breakfast! Good idea to book if going for Sunday brunch.

Thank ya mother for the rabbits?! More like thank Unilocal for the amazing app! It’s due to my need for a decent coffee whilst in the area however not familiar with what’s around, that a simple tap on my screen and there it lit up like a Christmas tree for my choosing, the winner being Corner Store Café. My oh my what a busy little place this is! Situated in a hidey hole in Dulwich I was surprised at how many tables were reserved and filled to the brim. Thankful I wasn’t stopping for breakfast but disappointed at the same time after seeing their menu! Staff were very warm on this wet and wintery morning. The service was fabulous! They sure know their regulars as I see them greet them as they come in ensuring they’ve got a good spot to sit. The vibe and feel of the place is modern, funky and cosy. Like a big bear bug! Lots of sweet and savoury morsels on display. Originally opting for my caffeine fix, I did end up getting a spinach, feta and potato sausage roll. It was delicious! The coffee, oh the coffee. I’m a fuss pot coffee drinker and it was so velvety and strong. Glad I got the large! Can’t wait to come back for a proper sit down meal.

I love coming here for just a coffee or a meal. The owners are so friendly and have done well training their staff. They are animated, attentive and on the ball. The smoked trout salad, waffles and French toast are all sensational. For lunch I recommend booking. It is understandably VERY popular. Excellent coffee from baristas who really know their stuff and are happy to share their knowledge.

One of my favourite places for brunch. They do great eggs and their coffee is awesome thanks to the magic barista on the coffee machine. Make sure you book for lunch or breakfast, particularly on the weekends as they get packed around peak times. We often go there with our dog so its good to be able to sit under the verandah and still be warm now that they have their heaters and blinds in place.

Good coffee, awesome freshly squeezed orange juice. Good service. Got the baked eggs with spicy sausage, it was delicious but the eggs were over cooked, needs to be runny.
