Perfection! Breakfast is my favorite meal, especially for dining out. While not everywhere gets it right we were served perfection again and again at this café. Convenient to our flat, transportation and shopping, we enjoyed starting our day and our last meal in Sydney here.

Amazing little café right on Crown street with something for everyone! They’ve got regular, vegetarian, vegan, paleo — you name your diet of choice and I guarantee they’ll sort you out with something delicious! They are most well known for their«griddles” — cast iron skillets of baked egg goodness. They’ve got several options, from halloumi and beans to bacon to chorizo. And if baked eggs aren’t your thing, you can always opt for a more traditional big breakfast. The wait staff is super nice and helpful(and hot!) and the food is great. Awesome option for a lazy weekend brunch!

The most EXPENSIVE café I have ever visited for what can be bought down the road, better quality and cheaper. Often on the weekends there are many party people who haven’t gone home yet which offers for an unsettling vibe. There have been many people who have run off on their bill in the few occassions i’ve been. This is usually because food take around 30 – 40 minutes from order to table. Given its failings, it is in a beautiful location, styled very elegantly and homely. It feels like you’re walking into an old living room, with the floorboards, book cases and wooden tables. Would only recommend if in desperate need of that type of ambiance.

This café has very good salad options and fresh juices. Service is very friendly and the place is quite nice. It offers appealing breakfast and lunch options.

I had such an amazing time at The Goods. The food was awesome! The coffee was awesome! And the service was awesome! Our waitress was so down to earth and cool. My overall experience here was positive. I would definitely come back if I were to visit Sydney again! :)

Wow, that’s a good chai latte — with the thick sweetness of eggnog and a nice layer of cinnamon on top. But it’s the the oatmeal cookies with filling in the display that will blow your mind. Not only are they delicious, the cookies have a range of flavors that slowly reveal themselves one after another while you chew. Not the sort of fine-dining experience one normally has vis-a-vis the humble oatmeal cookie! High quality ingredients are on offer here, and it certainly showed in their $ 8 protein shake — which was very nice(as it should be), and I’m curious to try their homemade juices. Lots of other interesting things on the menu to try, but what I had so far, the cool staff who make you feel like you’re just having a snack at a friend’s, the cozy wood feel, book-lined walls, and super laidback vibe of this place are already reason enough to come back. On the meh side, while the bread for their tuna sandwich was really good, the sandwich itself was solid, but just ok. I would have preferred if the mayo were mixed with the tuna rather than just on the bread.

About six months ago I moved very close to The Goods Café and have probably been here for breakfast about ten times since then. I have kept coming back because the quality of the food has been good, tasty options and some fun things like jaffles. I love that they serve home fries, not a common item here is Australia. The service has usually been the issue here, some of the guys are good, a couple of the regular girls there just dont have it together. While I’ve been here a few times, im not recognised as a local, im not bothered by this, but it would be the only explanation as to why they might ask me to order before I’ve seen a menu, which I did this morning. There were three other tables looking around wondering what was happening, some going up to the barista to try and make an order. When I did try and order, I was told the home fries weren’t ready yet, and there were some other issues with pretty standard things I ordered. The home fries come with every egg dish and aren’t ready at 9am on a Sunday morning? I ended up just finishing my coffee and meeting a friend for breakfast at another café. Short story: If you get them when the service is ok you will probably enjoy it, if not, you will have to kind of give instructions to the wait staff.

I was wandering around Darlinghurst on a beautiful Sunday afternoon when I came across this little café. Peering inside if you didn’t know any better you would have thought it was a library. In a way it was but it serves coffee and food, which is my kind of library. This little café is a cozy little retreat away from what can be a crazy world in Darlinghurst. I had a delicious sandwich and coffee while catching up on the Sunday papers. They had a big display full of delicious looking salads and if I had more time would have been back to try more. No pressure to move on after you finished and friendly staff make for a lovely afternoon lost in the paper.

I really enjoyed visiting this café. The atmosphere is so relaxed and comfortable, they people around me seemed to really be enjoying themselves. I think the food their has a lot to do with that(though I did not partake on this occasion). While the coffee itself was not bad, nor was it sublime. I have a funny feeling that if I went back it would be better, but with the range of cafes in that area, it is tough to give it another chance. Though… never say never… :-) Café Summary — — — — — — — — Passion for Coffee — 5⁄10 Coffee beans — Di Gabriel(I think) Crema(1=burnt, 10=velvet) — 7⁄10 Special coffees avail? — N/A Special Features — — — — — — — — Toilets

Good for a lazy need not explain afternoon. Breakfast is good here too. The kitchen closes early so food is breakfast and lunch only. It is quiet and relaxed, you will go by unnoticed, not flashy or pretentious at all. This is good to take a book along with you and sit over a pot of tea. The staff are nice and obliging. It is an interesting atmosphere like a little bit of the past stuck in time. Nice inlet into escapism, allows your imagination to roam free.

Organic Chicken Balls… No its not what you think. I met my friend at the quaint café on Crown Street. I didn’t even know this place existed until she told me about it. To my great surprise the café is lively and warm. The young ladies who worked there seated us quickly and took our coffee order. Since the kitchen had closed for the day they only had the prepared food available. They still had salads, a couple of sandwiches and yes, organic chicken meatballs(which were quite good). There are a couple of sectioned off areas inside with bookshelves(I didn’t see what books they had) and quieter more intimate spaces to talk with friends or the main area and outside dining is open and bright. I’m going to have to come here earlier to try out some of the other items on the menu. I will keep you posted on my revisit.

This cute organic café in Surry Hills is the kind of place you could spend all day at. Everything looks like nana cooked it. Home made Monte Carlos — m mmmmm! Along the walls the café store their stock(bottles of organic milk for example) but it looks like decoration and really sets the scene for a homey experience. At the back there is a small library and quiet reading area so if you fancy a place to work for the day this is a good spot. The floral Japanese print teapots are adorable — I love a place that has real teapots and they were the stars of the show for me today. The chai was brewed with hot milk as opposed to making watery tea and pouring the milk into it. Oh and the cakes! The coconut cake is delicious. I’m eating less sugar these days so it was a tad on the sweet side but I imagine for most cake lovers it would be heavenly. Be it over breakfast, lunch or a wine at dusk this is a cosy café to spend hours pondering your life away.

I love retreats and The Goods Café is just like one. In one of the busiest streets in Darlinghurst, when you enter this modest café, all noise seems to melt away. There are huge bookshelves lined with vintage hard covers which are actually for sale with a price tag of about $ 4. Its so quiet and quaint and there is always a table to choose from. My favourite place to sit is out the back as it is up a few stairs and it feels like you are in a literary genius’ lounge room. The colourful food on display is organic and you can taste it. Mouthwatering choice of salads I crave for long after my visit. Everything is so fresh and yummy. Coffee is exceptional. They certainly got their name right. This place is the goods!
