This place is wonderful. Had dinner & beers there last night and it was great!(Staff is very warm, attentive, & attractive) It was the most cost effective steak dinner I’ve ever had.($ 10.00 for steak anyway you want, fries, & salad) Over all I’d say it’s a pretty good Gay establishment that truly understands their demographic and caters to it.

The Oxford Hotel is quite the deceptive spot! From the outside the leafy beer garden and attractive exterior led me to expect a standard pub interior, all exposed wooden surfaces and chalk boards. Au contrare, the inside is a bit like going into a robot workshop. The tables are metal and their stools are block primary colours, even the walls are decorated with images of cogs in a kitschy way. I liked the surprise, though it’s not really my bag. The place was packed out with hairy biker types, clearly loving their day off and I can see this would be a great place at night as there is alot of floor space and some pumping beats. I, however, chose to move on…

The place is cool! The place is not huge, but its triangular in shape, and has some pretty cool décor. Is has this theme… Like a warehouse I suppose. I’m sure there a much more succinct name for it, but I don’t know it. Anyway, the bar place has a cool feel to it, metropolitan like, and theres a good menu too, but some almost unbeatable prices. The meals range from $ 9 – 18, and the day-of-the-week special start from $ 7 and go to $ 13. Hard to get much cheaper. Anyway, it’s a bar /pub, so what it comes down to is how it feels, It’s a comfortable place with a nice theme, but also has me guessing a bit too. Oxford street is known as the gay centre of Sydney, you see. Not sure whether I belong or not, but then again, maybe they simply accommodate for all, and leave it ambiguous.
