Canning Bridge Railway Station

Not a particularly accessible bus and train station, but it’s the most central for lower south of the river residents and the only stop for those wanting to take the Mandurah line. It’s smack bang in the middle of Canning Highway, which can get quite busy, and there’s a lot of stairs and criss-​cross walking required to get to alternate sides of the rail line and bus stops. Once you’ve got it figured out you’ll be fine.

Canning Bridge is the closest train station and bus port for those within the city of South Perth. When I lived in Salter Point I’d make the half hour trek up to the station daily. I would have ridden my bike, but I was explicitly warned not to by many. The station has bike lockers and a bike shed, but they’re not very secure and bike theft is quite high. Apparently they’re installing tighter security in the form of swipe cards to monitor access, but no word on any exact dates. The station is a bit dirtier than others, but at least they have a vending machine and train times displayed.
