Habitat Lounge

What an experience. I’ve been here twice and both times just for a quick drink but the staff have always delivered. Possibly the best espressos martini I’ve ever tried. Keep it up guys.

Slowest, miserable bar tenders. They were rude when we ordered. The bar tender took about 20 minutes to make a drink. We had a groupon and they seemed inconvenienced when we presented them with it. If you don’t want your customers to use groups, they shouldn’t offer one. Overall, a terrible experience. Will never be back.

These guys went above and beyond to make our night extra special. We were celebrating a 30^th birthday and had the outside area book. Unfortunately Melbourne decided it was the perfect night for storms and flooding so they quickly opened up the upstairs private room and manned the bar for us.
The food was great. They gladly modified a catered package so we could have all vegan finger food and even made vegan pizza with special cheese we provided. The staff even brought the cake up, lit with everything needed to dish it out.
The cocktails and sangria’s were fantastic also. The salted caramel margarita was so smooth and delicious, it’s a must try!
Overall this was a fantastic bar, quiet than a lot of others down smith st but with a fantastic ambiance, amazingly friendly staff and great food and drinks to top it off!
The only negative. Getting locked inside the toilet without a phone! Make sure you check the doors before locking them! (They came quickly and helped me get out though!)

Sweet little find and hidden gem. Habitat is usually quieter than the other bars in Smith street, but they have an excellent courtyard out the back, which, given the qaulity, I’m sure will be very busy and popular. Great range of drinks, and is a good find for a local hangout, I’m sure the cocktails are great too. Mid range bar and hangout, but a great spot nonetheless. Perfect for those low key drinks in a better setting.

When I think of Smith St, grunge, beer drinking and the occasional random request ‘are you chasing’ come to mind. So it was refreshingly surprising to discover Habitat. Perfect for a pre dinner drink or to work your way through their cocktail list.
Cool New York loft style décor make this cosy space perfectly comfortable too. A great place to chill and watch the world go by.
One stand out at Habitat is the attentive and courteous staff. If Habitat is anything to go by, Smith St is really coming of age!
