I must confess that I’m a little bit confounded by Estelle. At first sight it appears to be a boudoirish Parisian boutique replete with soundtrack of multiple French chanteuses, an abundance of beautiful smelling candles and rather a lot of pink; which makes the sight of some of the store’s labels — case in point: Stussy — a little bit incongruous. Estelle herself is lovely. All broad smiles and talk about the weather whenever her little shop has a visitor. As Kate D. has noted, Estelle also does a fine line in millinery, making hats that incorporate vintage elements to go alongside the unique selection of clothes and other accessories on offer. If you like the Estelle style — think dresses with cut out shoulders, pale prints, tribal diamanté jewellery and modern t-shirts that look vintage — you’ll probably find this shop addictive. Luckily, prices are pretty reasonable and there are always a few bargains to be found. The range of brands on offer is excellent considering the shop’s diminutive size with jewellery from labels such as My Secret Agent, bath and body stuff by boutique favourite MOR and clothes by a dizzying array of labels on offer. Definitely worth a look to see if it’s your style, Estelle has a massive turnover of stock making $ 20 sale rails and an incredible diversity of labels the norm. All in all a sweet little Collingwood boutique.

Located amongst outlet stores, Estelle is definitely unique to that part of Smith Street. Estelle handpicks each item that is in the shop and ensures that each item is made from quality material. I walked by Estelle and was attracted to a grey hooded sweater. The grey hooded sweater wasn’t just your average, boring sweater — it had designs that gave it life and made it quite feminine. It was the perfect sweater to through over jeans when you can’t be bothered to look good, but still want to be slightly stylish. Inside, you find amazing garments. I purchased a tan hooded cape. What made it great was the details — inside was this lovely pink/orange/tan pattern. It wasn’t cheap just like many of the items in the store, but you can definitely find affordable items there. The cape had a loose button so they gave me a 10% discount and offered to sew it back on. That’s service for you.

This place. Come here. You need great new clothes? Come here. This place is amazeballs. First of all, the clothes are AMAZING. So many beautiful and crazily great dresses and tops. It’s a beautiful store full of mostly local designers. I bought the most epic dress here from a Sydney label called Staple. This boutique store is full of just utterly amazing designers, all handpicked by Estelle herself. She’s done the hard yards, all you have to do is figure out how much money you can spend. While we’re on the topic of money, something else I’d like to point out is that these clothes are affordable. Crazily so. The dress I bought didn’t cost a lot. It was under $ 100, we’re talking seriously good value for money. I adore this store. Estelle herself is wonderful and her hats amazing(she’s a milliner and has her own works in the store, ready in time for the races). She sources the clothes from Australian designers when possible and occasional pieces from overseas including the amazing Latvian QooQoo designs. These prints are fantastic and are ready for summer. If you want to stand out(in a good way) come here. The clothes are beautiful and there are so many different designers to choose from, it also won’t cost you a crazy amount. Get in there!
