My worst yum char experience ever! Three avid yum char fans went to Kam Fook today! Been here many many times before and have noticed a gradual but steady decline! But today was a joke, but not a funny joke! Couldn’t get any service, the choices were crap and charged a fortune! Between 3 of us we had only 3 dishes! As we couldn’t or wouldn’t be served by the 4 ladies trying to deliver food to a full restaurant, guessing around 200 people! Even when a trolley came our way I was met with rudeness! Just because I didn’t want to eat chicken feet! I, Ve tried them before many times, but not what I was after today! They had no roast meats or anything a half decent yum char place would serve! So left hungry and waiting over an hour we left! Will never return! Much better on offer around Chatswood! It’s a shame, Kam Fook used to be awesome! But like many restaurants, greed takes over, and they forget it’s us the customers that makes them survive!

Grubby, unhygienic restaurant with poor service. I’ve been to Kam Fook once and found their utensils to be dirty with food stains left over from the previous customer. The food looked unhygienic and oily. Service was horrible. The waitresses slam down plates on the table and are very rude. I wondered if the restaurant was in violation of any health codes and did a Google search afterwards. I found it had at least 17 violations and they left raw chicken on the floor of the kitchen!!! The article described Kam Fook as being«Sydney’s worst serial offender.» The article was from 2013 but clearly things haven’t changed if I am questioning Kam Fook’s cleanliness. In a separate article dated a few months ago, I read that the Kam Fook in Bondi was closing down due to the lack of customers thanks to their health code violations. Definitely not coming back!

So came here on a Sunday for some Yum Cha, around lunch time. This place is crowded and loud, and exactly what you want a good Yum Cha place to be. The dim sims and dumplings are fantastic. From the vegetarian to the prawn dumplings, all were delicious and fresh. We had a glutton free person with us, and the owner of the establishment insured us that they only use corn flour and so all their dumplings are glutton free. Which is an added bonus. The pork buns are delicious, but nothing was as good as the spring roles — filled with delicious pork goodness. The only downside was the dessert was average. But that was a very minor thing. Didn’t try the noodles, as we were too full. Be prepared because of the amount of patrons it sometimes takes a while to get someone’s attention — but personally I think that is part of the fun. Just make sure you come early to book a table. To sum it up I would definitely come here again.

High school friend was back from New Zealand so we all went out for YUMCHHHAAAA!!! FOOD Ordered our standard dishes. Dumplings are always a must! Always a good crowd at kam fook which ensures the food is always fresh. We left around 2.30 and there were still tables of people coming in. Only disappointment for my friend was the pineapple buns. He thought they were just plain pineapple buns but they actually were filled with bbq pork. He disappointingly didn’t finish it. OVERALL I love yum cha in Australia because of the carts. Getting to see the actual food before you order is definitely beats pictures of food in a menu

Good dim sum place with good varieties of dim sum.
