Food on a stick! As I have previously noted, Chinese food is not one of my favourites. Crazy Wings has a bit of an edge though, the edge taking the form of a pointed stick. «Beijing old village street food» is exactly the kind of thing that appeals to me so my mother & I decided to give it a go and ordered $ 45 worth of dishes to share(this place is fairly cheap so that’s a lotta food). Spring pancakes were delicious but pretty oily– as is often the case with them unfortunately. The food was all lightly spiced and tasty and the cucumber salad was amazing, but by the time I got to the Crazy Eggplant after potatoes, garlic and the pancakes, I felt like I’d drunk half a cup of oil. Shame because if they did these dishes without oil or at least drained/blotted them afterwards they’d be amazing. Take paper towels for blotting and I’m sure the eggplant is delicious if you wring it out, but do it over a cup to avoid an oil slick on your table…

Crazy Wings really hits the mark on the chilli heat scale and it’s kinda indulgent that the char-grilling is done in the kitchen for you. Plus the style of food makes it a great spot for sharing dishes with a larger group.
