It’s a chocolate shop. I’m currently dating a chocoholic. How could we not go in here? I tried to have a hot chocolate. I say tried because it was so rich and sweet that I couldn’t finish it. The chocolate is also really rather yummy. I tried an almond thing. It was delish. If not pricey for a piece of chocolate. There’s a small amount of seating inside and toilets as well. Let’s say it’s cosy. Lots of chocolate to peruse and want to buy if you have a massive sweet tooth. Otherwise maybe just stick to a coffee and a piece of chocolate lest you feel like you’re in willy wonka’s chocolate river and vom.

I’m a big chocolate fan and Koko didn’t disappoint! Came across this place when the beautiful décor caught my eye. I had a big dilemma choosing which chocolates to buy as there was so many unique flavours! When I did decide, the lady pulled out her brown glove to place all my chocolates on a card which was then put in a nice bag. It was like the Louis Vuitton of chocolate! 5 start from start to finish!

How can you not love chocolate? Koko Black is becoming an institution on Lygon with hot, cold and gift packed chocolates available. Great place to go for a short catch up but if you are wanting desert you better leave enough room and enjoy extremely sweet treats.

TODIEFOR! ALLDESSERTS were impressive!!! Excellent atmosphere, in the heart of Lygon street and all the action. Inside seating is very coffee house style; outside is so relaxing and enjoyable. My order was the chocolate walnut brownie– HEAVENLY. With a side of ganache and vanilla ice cream OMG. I was thoroughly pleased and impressed with this place– it stood out in my mind.

The dark wood panelling of the interior matched perfectly with the colour of the dark chocolate on display and so much so that the place looked good enough to eat. Walking inside you are immediately hit by the strong scent of chocolate and it’s enough to make your mouth water. The place looked like a small boutique store reserved especially for these fine, handmade chocolates and truffles. You can choose individual chocolates from their display($ 1.95 each), or one of their specialty sharing platters to pass around. Koko Black is a café with its seating outside the store, and they have special seasonal plates on offer(to see the Spring menu click here: ) The place is definitely worth a drop in, if only to pick up some chocolate truffles to hide in your room for later.
