Excellent coffee, efficient, friendly and fast staff. A café with killer mojo that brings the goods.

One of the absolute best coffees I’ve had in a long time. Right up there with the best Sydney has to offer! Who knew there was a cool boho little corner café right near Burwood Station? Mr P is really friendly and gives you the feeling he truly enjoys what he does. Hats off also to their other bearded and bespectacled coffee guy. Amazing flavours and aroma, and beautifully presented. Mrs P works the wonders in the kitchen, the menu options are creative, colourful and truly delicious. Fried chook eggs come with cherry tomatoes marinated in beautiful aromatic olive oil, spring onions and crispy maple bacon. We also tried the Moorish baked beans(I think that’s what it was called), with delicious homemade potato cakes and poached eggs. Very exciting discovery and definitely going back!

Mrs P’s is a small corner café in Burwood in the backstreet behind 7 eleven. As you walk into the café minding the slight slope at the entrance you will notice the scribble on a chalkboard, a bright yellow hat rack and the sign on the counter saying«Please order and pay at the counter» — yes sir! The wooden seating arrangement can be a tight squeeze when it gets busy on weekend mornings so expect to wait if you are looking to get a seat. This is my go to place for coffee in Burwood.

A recent recipient of the Beanhunter award for excellent coffee, this lovely little café stands proudly on a little side street in busy Inner-West suburb Burwood. The crowd on a Saturday morning is a diverse mix of families, groups of friends, and couples sitting down at the brightly coloured tables(note– only seats about 20!), and the be-hatted barista is kept busy by frequent takeaway orders. The all day menu includes a mix of staple bacon-n-egg rolls through to fancier options, or you could go for my other half’s favourite — a bacon egg pie! Then have a sweet to wrap up your brunch, perhaps a brownie-cookie(«Brookie», of course) and why not, another coffee to go.

Stopped in for an early breakfast. Had potato cake Benedict. Crispy potato cakes topped with perfect poached eggs and crackling bacon drizzled with a delicate hollandaise sauce. Stunning. The coffee was surprisingly good. Not what you expect form a suburban café. Bright friendly service with a strong communal atmosphere. All in all I’ll be back here when I’m next in Burwood. A must try, right beside a public parking station.

Great coffee. Dare I say one of the best in town? Certainly comparable to the likes of Mecca, Wedges and Coffee Alchemy. Between cappuccino and latte I prefer the taste of latte. Both tastes a hint of sourness that adds to the overall coffee goodness. Highly Recommended.

Mr and Mrs P have struck the café goldmine with their kitsch little establishment in the inconspicuous parts of Burwood. Location — Council adjacent, RTA(now RMS) and Transport NSW within a 2 minute walk. Theme — A much needed breath of alternative air among the otherwise homogenous eateries in the Burwood area. Hesion sacks line the counter, assorted crap lines the walls; music from forever to the future. Food — 12⁄10. All made on-site, the pies are a particular treat. Their sweets are creative hybrids, and their sandwiches always satisfy. Service — Mr P greets with a smile in his jaunty hat and matching mustache. (Word of advice — short staff is a recurring problem, try to avoid the lunchtime rush). Highly recommended to those bored by the usual Burwood food scene. If you hate the unique and find positive energy unnerving, avoid this place at all costs.
