So much choice, fresh food, plenty of fresh delicious seafood(depending on the time of day, not available at some times), dumplings and Asian desserts. Great for sharing dishes, especially when you’re really hungry.

Been there an number of times now. Quality of the food good to excellent, variety almost unlimited but fresh fresh fresh. Noisy crowded and people picking over the buffet — but I guess that is what is to be expected at a huge Chinese buffet with lots of kids. Value for money +++. People shovelling food into their mouths like there was no tomorrow. If you are looking for a quiet intimate relaxed meal — forget it. You will either love it or hate it there is no middle ground.

They’ve improved a lot! Was grimacing when I was told I had to come here again for an uncles birthday! Not the best experience over the yrs. Alas I think they have heard the cries! Food is now of quality. The yum cha dim sums are now wheeled around and also avail. at the back. The duck is crispy and flavoursome. Same with the roast pork. Food is not cold and plentiful. Not like the old days. The custard egg tarts and especially the durian puffs! worth a return visit. 3 stars as I’m still skeptical. if it’s the same management don’t expect this to continue!

Is there better asian food out there? Probably. Could you get more quality food for less anywhere else? I doubt it. Will some people turn their nose up at it because it’s a buffet? It happens. But if you’re not a food snob, the buffet will serve you and your friends or family well, particularly if you go for lunch when the buffet is priced around $ 29⁄35 instead $ 59⁄63. The duck and pork belly in particular are great. They will stir fry to order. There are dumplings galore. Plenty of asians enjoy going there, so that tells me it’s authentic enough and fairly priced. China Bar is a satisfying choice in my book.

For $ 35 the buffet lunch here is just OK. Some things are good — the curries and the roast meats section. Also the noodle station is quite good. But the dim sum is rubbery and dry, the desserts bland and stale. I can’t comment on the sushi as only desperadoes eat buffet sushi. The staff aren’t really here to serve you — their role is to manage the herd of omnivores desperately trying to cram in as much of the buffet as they can in the allotted time. There are two sessions for lunch, first one starts at 11:30am. Humanity at its finest.

The variety of food is great however the layout for access to the food could be better. We were seated in the far corner which was chilly under the air conditioner and far from the food.

I absolutely love the variety of foods they have at this buffet, Need I mention that this has got to be one of the. if not the best buffet that I’ve ever been too. The food variety here is amazing.(Granted it is all asian) but it ranges from chinese, to Japanese to Thai to Indian. Every time you come here it is like you’re travelling to a your own asia. The food selection is very neatly laid out, and you don’t have to wait in line to take the food that they have on offer. Definitely love the fresh seafood and Peking Duck. For the price and what you get for it, is definitely great value.

This place has been there for awhile. There was a time where restaurants that occupied the premises here opened and closed like the doors of the toilet at a bad curry joint. This place seems to have maintained some kind of longevity, though. I’m not entirely sure why this place has survived when others haven’t. So, given that it had been there awhile, I tried it. I will probably not go back in a hurry. The food was quite bland(I tried a beef curry, a chicken curry and some noodle dishes) and the whole thing was on the expensive side($ 33 buffet for a weekend lunch). I felt like I was being rushed to finish my meal and get out, too. I just didn’t have a great experience at all. I’m sure I’m in the minority, and that there are always customers that have bad experiences in every restaurant, and this time, I was that customer. I do not see myself paying the $ 59 for a dinner buffet any time soon.

If you love Asian food(and lots of it), then this is your perfect place. Located on the corner of Springvale Rd and Burwood Hwy this place is extremely accessible and easy to find(thanks to being on top of a hill and it’s huge sign). China Bar Signature is a buffet of Asian cuisines. They have towers of Yum Cha style dumplings, soups, rice, sushi, seafood, traditional meat dishes, duck, Asian flavored ice creams/desserts and much much more. There is freshly cooked food constantly pouring out of the kitchen and into the serving trays as this place becomes over popular and busy at night. The Yum Cha dumplings are always a hit and people can be seen walking back to their tables with 5 or so bamboo steamers stacked up. Don’t worry; the kitchen works hard so if they are out of something, it’ll probably be back within a few minuets. The food here is tasty and satisfying, but like most buffets the quality isn’t the best out there. I definitely would still suggest coming here at least once– just to try it out. The atmosphere is very lively and loud thanks to the hoards people. When I came I found the table service to be very quick… but too quick, they were trying to take away my plate before I had even finished it(this happened a few times). The only other downfall is the size of the plates. They were saucers rather than plates; you could hardly fit food on it, which meant multiple trips to the stations. The prices here are around $ 50ish at night, and only $ 30 for lunch(but seafood, sashimi and peking duck are only available for dinner).

I will be the first to admit, the thought of an asian style buffet made me cringe. Located on the corner of Burwood Hwy and Springvale Rd, China Bar Asian Buffet offer both lunchtime and dinner time buffets, for $ 29 and $ 49 per person respectively. The first thing I notice is that the place is packed full of asian people. This is usually a good sign that the place is okay. The place was clean, spacious, and the staff were. well, I wouldn’t say friendly, but they were not unfriendly. The food was okay. Certainly better than I was expecting, though the bar was set pretty low. I’m not convinced that it’s worth the $ 29 price tag. I think thst depends on how much you can stuff in. The dumplings lacked the refined flavours that I look for in a top Yum Cha restaurant, but they were edible, m which was more than I was expecting. I probably wouldn’t go back here, but if you like buffets, and you like Yum Cha, then you may just like this place.
