When I saw this place virtually empty I should have suspected something. This was no good. The fish was like a shriveled up piece of leather. The serve of chips was very small and the kebab was pretty dry and awful. I’m not hard to please but I would need to be very drunk before I was happy with this.

I have only ever tried the salmon and chips at this place. Never anything more. It’s because I don’t want to mess the idea of perfection. I don’t need a kebab. I don’t need any other type of fish. To me this place is purely a grilled salmon and fried chip shop. If you’ve read my other posts, you might know I’m a fried chip aficionado. These chips are pretty good — not great, but pretty good. I like mine a little extra crispy and always ask for the extra crisp and the town hall guys deliver beautifully. The salmon sits on a tray of ice in the huge open front window display. There is always a decent choice when it comes to fish, but since my first try at their salmon I have never felt the need to try another. The staff here are friendly and are easily up for a chat while you wait for your meal. The ambiance is like that of most fish and chip shops, white tiles, coke fridge, TV on top of coke fridge and old copies of woman’s weekly and who magazine.
