A good, cheap, low key Thai restaurant that’s suitable for all your Thai-eating needs. The food is of a high quality and the servings about perfect; not too big, not too small. As you’d expect, it’s all good for sharing and you can ring up a feast without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is subtle, walking the line between quiet and raucous. The tables are all neat and wooden, and the napkins are folded into a kind of half sun. There’s also a general motif of writing adorning the walls, with odd phrases and word plays surrounding you. The service is polite and efficient for the most part, though on one occasion I had to wait a while for my meal and by the time it came out it was only luke warm. However, for the most part it’s a pleasant dining experience. I’d recommend any of the coloured curries.

Best. Name. EVER. This cute little place is found on Lygon St and lives up to its name in every sense of the word(except maybe the knee bit). It’s Thai food. Good Thai food that make you want to hop on a plane just to tell them it couldn’t possibly taste as good as this. The wonderful play on words is a quirk you can find on the walls, amongst the furniture, even playing through the speakers. There’s a playfulness here that makes every meal enjoyable. Only downside could be the serving sizes. Living up to their name again the sizes aren’t really made for sharing.

This place really is as good as it gets. The food is fantastic, heaps of flavour, combined with good quality ingredients. The staff are lovely, the the restaurant itself is homely(particularly upstairs which literally l9oked like I was sitting in their living room). The best thing about Thai Née though is the price. It is soo cheap! My husband and I can come here and gorge on entrees, curries, rice and dessert, and pay well under $ 50. Particularly yummy is the yellow chicken curry, and the massaman.
