Temple brewery is located in a side street and we came here as a stop on our weekly bike ride. We sit down in a nice ambience. Alcohol is limitless with many choices of beer but only 3 choices of soft drink. Layout is good and modern. I ordered a «Midnight burger» which is a wagyu beef burger with black brioche bun along with pickles, cheese, etc. The taste is absolutely perfect. Service excellent. Very impressed with the burger’s flavours and the juiciness of the patty. We also got the chips with tomato relish which was a great side dish. Really enjoyed this meal. Overall this is an excellent restaurant and not too expensive either. Have come here many times and will come back again and again Second time ordered a chicken parmigiana. Absolutely perfect. The chicken cooked to perfection and the cheese, tomato sauce and bacon absolutely complimented the chicken well. The salad and chips on the side gave a good compliment. Perfect!

If you’ve read their website you will see that they are environmentally friendly and have tried to the best of their abilities to make this brewey a sustainable venue. The beers are amazing i highly recommend getting a tasting board and a few nibbles off their tapas menu. Great for groups and individual beer lovers.

Amazing baked Camembert to start then the short ribs for main. Absolutely sensational. The great food is a bonus for a brewery bar. The wife had the mushroom Ragu which by all accounts is amaze balls. Highly recommended.

Love the new outdoor space! Great selection of craft beers and an impressive menu. Try one of the burgers if you’re a burger aficionado. The ancient grain salad is perfect for those herbivores out there. Service is A+.

Temple is finally complete with the NEW menu and an addition of a lovely outdoor space. As of yet it’s missing blankets be heat lamps though. I love their beers. I’m a huge fan of the Hefferwizen, he’s a fan of the Anytime IPA but the rest of the selection is great too. The staff are just lovely, they are helpful, know their beer(as you should in a brewery) and don’t mind giving the undecided a taster. Today I tried their new menu and I was impressed. The scotch egg starter was lovely. For a main I had the steak which was a 300g scotch fillet — he had 4 sliders(one of each). Each one of the sliders tasted gorgeous. I really liked the taste of the steak — minor improvement they would make me happy would be for it to be thicker, to have a sauce not just butter/mustard and I would have loved some more salad. This is one of my fav places in Brunswick. Sadly the secret is out and it’s becoming popular!

Haven’t had the pleasure of visiting the brewery as yet. There package brews have made there way into WA boutique bottle shops. The Anytime IPA has become a favourite. Mane Liquor is my outlet here in the West and in conjunction with John at The Temple Brewery, I was the winner of a carton per month for the year of the Anytime IPA ! 12 Cartons coming my way !!! Thanks ! Awesome.

A visit to Temple Brewery is a holy experience and allows one to pay homage to the beer gods and goddesses. This space screams highly organized religious cult sophistication. Once you’ve tasted the beer you’ll understand. Long tables lend this space towards groups wanting to enjoy a beautiful beer and a bite to eat. The menu is short and sweet. I couldn’t by pass the pulled pork sliders and shoe string fries to accompany my cider. I’m not a beer fan at all. Thankfully the cider here is worth the trip out north and there’s a pleasant wine list on offer. If your a beer fan don’t bypass the Bicycle Beer. Perfect for the summer days

Temple wins for most schnazzy and smallest of all the Melbourne breweries that I’ve been to. Burgers on a black brioche bun? Yes please! The tasting wheel with beer is wine glasses, you guys are just too classy for me! I love the doors of this place. The venue is so nice on the eyes, it’s very modern and chic. There is a peekaboo kitchen window, I even like the mirror wall and the glass window that separates your dining experience from the nuts and bolts of it, the brewery.

As a lover of all things beer, I had very high expectations when I heard about Temple Brewery, and it lived up to those expectations in every way. The building is unsuspecting from the outside, but absolutely beautiful inside. One wall is all glass(two floors of it!) and you can see all the beer magics happening(giant gold copper vats with all the home brews) whilst you sip. The staff are amazingly friendly and knowledgeable and will walk you though every step of the beer experience. When visiting Temple, it’s worth settling down for the night so that you can try every beer on tap. The Bicycle Beer is a must!

This review encompasses a few visits. To start with, the staff at this place are second to none. They are friendly, happy and always welcoming. They get a 5 for this alone. Second. The beer. Have you had it??? If you have you get my review. They do some amazing beers. If you haven’t had it… whats wrong with you??? get on it!!! We went to a beer degustation night and just wanna say the service and the food quality was AMAZING. Few little gripes though: long time between arriving and getting food, we got beer, but not food… i know not normally a big deal, but when getting a lot of GREAT beer need food. Secondly, as a vegetarian, i felt like my food came 2nd to everyone elses, i guess as a whole i’m used to this, but still kinda irks me. Some reviews have said the place is cold and industrial… WELLDER… its a full production brewery, it has to be to a degree so the beer tastes good!!! i actually found the contrast of the brewery floor to the staff really refreshing. in that the staff are so friendly and happy, that they over-ride any«cold industrial» feeling you get. I love that 2 min down the road from my house is a brewery that brews amazing beer brewed by awesome people. i can’t wait to see what comes next… i’v been keeping me eyes out for the 12.12.12

I’ve visited Temple twice now, both during an event the were holding, so I’m not entirely sure what it’s like on a «regular» day but I love this place based on these visits. Temple has a very industrial look, concrete everywhere and you overlook the actual brewery when you sit in either of the bars(upstairs and downstairs) but the welcoming we have received upon arriving has been anything but cold. Our first visit was for the launch of their Ginger Beer, which was also tied into Chinese New Year. As soon as we pushed through the large wooden doors we were beckoned inside with massive smiles and warm welcomes. Our second visit was for a beer degustation evening, and we were greeted at the door just as warmly. The staff are friendly, helpful and love their beer. The beer selection is delicious to say the least. There is bound to be something here to suit your tastes and there is a «fat boy» tap through which the beer is filtered through to give a new twist to, such as the Ginger Beer being fed through ginger or the Oatmeal Stout through coffee. It’s definitely worth a try! A previous review led me to believe the food would be terrible here, but it was far from this. Perhaps there are new chefs working here now, or they just learned to cook, but the food I’ve eaten here has been absolutely spectacular. Granted, the degustation night was probably a little out of the ordinary, but on that night we were treated to some of the nicest food that I’ve eaten out in quite some time. We just ate chips on our other visit(and they were great!) and the regular menu looked just as nice, which everyone else there seemed to be enjoying. So I eagerly await a return visit to Temple, on a regular night to see what it is like, and the only reason I’m giving a 4 rating instead of a 5 is because I have yet to see what it is like outside of these nights.

The atmosphere, cold and industrial, just doesn’t do it for me… I also went when it was fairly empty which didn’t help…

Temple is a wonderful brewery that delivers the goods when it comes to tasty and unique craft brews, but — sadly — fails to score in the food department. If you’re a fan of craft brews, come to Temple to worship. Since their opening in mid-December 2011, I’ve been super impressed with the range of beers on offer. In addition to their solid regular offerings(e.g. the light and refreshing Bicycle Beer, brewed with spelt and a touch of sea salt), on my last visit for Good Beer Week, they featured a smoked Hefeweizen, a honeyed Saison, and(the highlight) the«Unifactor», a dark yeasty Weizenbock brewed in collaboration with Weihenstephan, Bavaria’s oldest brewery. Unfortunately, after that last visit, I’m afraid I don’t have anything positive to say about the food. My main, the so-called«American» chili, was quite literally inedible. It came out as an undifferentiated pulverized goo. Aside from the bit of shucked corn that had been inexplicably tossed atop the oily mess, I could not discern anything resembling food. I tentatively tried a bit on one of the corn chips, and couldn’t stomach it. Nor could any of the beer swigging bros in our group, which — given the amount of beer consumed by this point — is saying a lot. Trust me, even in America you’d be hard pressed to find a chili so gastronomically offending. Because of said chili, hands down THE worst food(if one can call it that) that I’ve been served in the two years I’ve lived in Melbourne, I’m afraid I have a hard time remembering that I’d quite liked the bar snacks I’ve had in past visits(e.g. pickled quail eggs, rosemary almonds). Based on beer alone, I’d give Temple the Brewery 5 stars. Until they do something about the food, however, Temple the Brasserie gets a 1. Hence the score of 3 stars. I’ll continue to come here to enjoy the beer, and try to keep the faith that eventually they’ll deliver the culinary salvation that such wonderfully crafted beer surely warrants.
