My family and I had dinner here 2 nights ago, the prices were Ridiculous for what you got. The calamari and squid were way over cooked and tough, clearly the chef has no idea how to cook sea food. Value for money = ZERO! We won’t be back EVER! I will say that our waitress was excellent.

Having been here when visiting the Gold Coast I looked forward to lunching here again. Sadly mistaken. It must have been the apprentice chef on his own for the day. Cream sauce was split, cold and very unappealing, the chicken appeared to be old(it was a Monday so maybe Friday’s delivery) and the veggies were cold. Ordered a Bruschetta but it came as cold slightly toasted bread, a bowl of chopped tomato with a little onion through it and a small plate of oil with a little balsamic in it. First time I have ever been given the ingredients to make it myself. Maybe the chef was trying to be inventive with a ‘deconstructed’ bruschetta. All in all a very poor offering and nothing but scorn from the staff when pointing this out. Never again. My guest who lives on the coast will never visit again either.

I just want to commend this restaurant for how it dealt with a difficult situation. We had initially made a booking at a different Italian restaurant for 25 people on Saturday night but the lady who I booked with couldn’t do her job and never wrote it down so they had no idea what we were talking about when we arrived to eat. Instead of dealing with a hard situation appropriately they brushed us off and were completely and utterly rude. They were accusing me of making the mistake instead of taking responsibility for their own mistake. This left 25 people annoyed, especially me who was disappointed in how we were treated. We then went wandering for a different restaurant and ended up at Marios. I just want to seriously commend and thank the staff at Marios, especially the older man who seems to be the owner/manager. You did a fantastic job at helping me in a tough situation and were very gentle in nature, calming and you know how to handle customers. I was is a feral and stressed mood but you managed to pull through with the goods and deserved every penny of the $ 650+ we spent that night. The staff are lovely, including all of the waiters etc. The restaurant is nice and the food was great. The portion sizes are generous. I would come back here again mainly because of the way they handled the situation. I take my hat off to them for working out a solution in a tough situation when the restaurant is booked out. It’s not easy finding space for 25 people at a busy time. Thanks for your help that night. I am pretty sure the owners of Marios are the same as Valentinos, but I would never step a foot back in Valentinos after the way I was treated. The Valentinos staff need to be fired and new staff hired & trained by whoever runs Marios as they know what they’re doing.

Have never had a bad meal here. Although tonight the ham on the pizza was a little salty for my taste. The Steak Mario however us definitely worth the price! Steak and seafood were cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that I should have ordered it with her butter!

I always thought and stated the best Italian at the coast is Marios hands down. I have had dinner a few times and was more than happy but I must admit it was a few years ago. Went there for dinner recently and ordered Pasta Marinara and I was so disappointed when I started eating, It was tasteless no sauce no flavour not fresh seafood and not attractive to look at and definitely not made with love. Hmmm pasta in an Italian restaurant should be their speciality well it was a complete FAIL!

The staff here are so attentive and helpful. The dishes are pretty sizable. I reccomend going for the pizza bread instead of the standard garlic to start. The pizza breads are delicious. Don’t bypass the gourmet pizza menu either!!!

Fantastic service and huge meal sizes. The menu here is amazing, so much to choose from and everything is quality. If you need assistance, the staff are always happy to help with your food and wine selections based on what you like/feel like eating. The atmosphere really makes this place something special, it’s always quite busy but it’s never intrusive or uncomfortable. RECOMMENDATION: The seafood here is excellent and the pizzas are a must try.
