There’s nothing pretty about Balusu’s, unless your eyes are directly linked to your stomach as mine are, in which case Balusu’s is ga-horgeous. But let’s be honest, pots of steaming Indian food aren’t all that pretty to look at(I blame the cumin) and to add insult to injury, Balusu’s interior décor has about the same level of charm as a tyre centre’s waiting room. But this is a true«it’s what’s on the inside that counts» story because the staff are absolutely lovely, the ordering is easy to do online, home delivery is free for orders over $ 18, the restaurant is BYO and the food is fantastic. And ultimately that’s what you’re there for, right? As a serial sampler, I especially loved the«3 curries on rice» deal and can vouch that the aloo eggplant, saag dhal and navratan korma were some of the best veggie Indian dishes I’ve had in quite some time. And those were just three of the eight veggie choices available. Oh, and for naan lovers out there, there are seven types — yes seven — of naan. It was like… wait for it… Naania.
