This was a groupon visit. They were a bit hard to find and didn’t answer their phone even though I rang 4 times. I got there and was the only one in the salon, so not sure why they couldn’t pick up the phone. Anyway, I was told there would be a surcharge for long hair. It’s always been $ 20 everywhere else, but they told me it would be $ 40. After I said I would prefer a refund, they agreed to $ 30. Two girls worked on me together. They did a very quick but probably ok job, considering I was only paying $ 130, but the pressure to buy products afterwards was immense. They kept saying, «No pressure» but they wouldn’t let me leave until they had tried the hard sell three times! I don’t think I will go back, but it was ok value for money, I suppose. So, two stars for them, meaning «Meh, I’ve experienced better.»

Ahhhh. Cute and clean salon at the Bondi Junction Mall. I’m not usually a fan of mall salons but as luck would have it, went in to buy products that were on sale a couple of weeks ago. I started talking to the girl at the front desk, Mel, who was very helpful on many levels. Told me about one of their promotions for wash, cut and blow dry, suggested Lilliana, wrote it on a card and off I went.
Today I went for a cut… and I have not had a hair cut in a very… very…very long time. Lilliana was running a few minutes behind but I was ok with that since I wanted to watch her work as well as get a little comfy and see what’s what.
My appointment: Lilliana looks young but seems to be very experienced. We talk about what I wanted vs not wanting, she got it right off the bat! I was already shampooed so she immediately got to work. The bottom line here is that Lilliana is 100% professional, knew what I wanted and gave me the exact look I wanted. Woo hoo! She was fast, confident and I am definitely coming back here!
So why only 4 stars? First, I arrived a few minutes early but even so, I was not taken on time. I’m ok with that since I wanted a look/​see of the place and watch Lilliana work on the customer in her chair. The salon itself is small and has lots of product where there should be a waiting area so they ushered me inside and did my shampoo right away. The shampoo assistant was a little bit friendly, seemed to be lacking confidence. That’s really ok, too. The shampoo was actually ok as well… except for the part where the water was dripping down the side of my neck and at the final rinse water went down my back. Not too thrilled about this part.
All in all, I not only recommend this salon but I am planning on coming back for my next haircut!!!
