Chocolateria San Churro

San Churro offers Bondi Beach a respite from the many fish and chip joints along Campbell Parade. San Churro is a chocoholics paradise.
San Churro makes your chocolate dreams come true with their Spanish flair and enthusiasm. Your welcomed into the store with a lovely Spanish feel and vibe through their layout and music. They offer seating outdoors with a view onto Bondi Beach and gorgeous Spanish style seating inside surrounded by 100’s and thousands of chocolate temptations.
The menu is extensive in its offerings from hot chocolates, sundaes, milk shakes and of course what they are famous for the Churro with gorgeous chocolate dipping sauce. Truly something for everyone in the audience.
The hot chocolate menu offers Classic Spanish hot chocolate, Classic Spanish sugar free hot chocolate, Mexican Azteca (Chilli hot chocolate), Nut Version, Biscuit on top. They also do Couverture hot chocolate which is premium hot chocolate available in dark, milk, white or mocha.
I went for the Classic Spanish hot chocolate sugar free option. It’s a really rich and thick hot chocolate with beautiful flavour. The hot chocolate is naturally sweetened with Maltitol. It’s an awesome hot chocolate and because it’s so rich it’s served really warm and each gulp is chocolate euphoria. Definitely up there with the great hot chocolate options around.
The place is inviting and friendly and definitely a great option for a sweet craving if your in the Bondi Beach area and feel like having something with premium chocolate.

When you get greeted with a huge smile and a warm welcome you forget that you just walked into a chocolate heaven.
But back to the chocolate heaven, there’s chocolate everywhere! All I wanted was a Chai Latte and these guys delivered, it was actual chai too, not the mix it in type. No sugar needed so you could taste the various flavours and while I waited I perused the chocolate selection.
There’s so much chocolate in here.
Just everywhere… The seating inside if wooden and cozy, there’s also seating outside if you prefer. Since I only came in for a chai to go I didn’t get to sample anything else.
But am now tempted to do the Bay walk just to revisit this place and try some hot chocolate…

This outlet right on the beach at Bondi is part of a larger Australian chain, and I stopped by here on a recent trip. Very clean, cozy, and comfortable shop, and service was very personal and courteous.
The real highlight is the menu, where you have to restrain yourself from trying everything on offer: milkshakes, hot chocolate, coffee, ice cream, other desserts, chocolates, truffles, and even churros. Indeed, there’s even a tasting plate where you sample just about everything. Perfect, warming comfort food, especially for this time of year when it’s a bit nippy at the beach.

Sometimes you just need a hot chocolate. It makes the world seem like a happy place again — especially if you’re sipping it down as you look over beautiful Bondi Beach. The only thing better? A serving of hot churros on the side.
I worried San Churro Chocolateria would be a tourist trap, but then I stopped and watched the fresh churros being pressed out in the window and I knew I was in for a real treat. They are simply too delicious and go down awfully well with a cup of their mouthwatering, Spanish blend hot chocolate.
The only downside is watching the lithe, bikini-​clad bodies bopping about on the beach and knowing all the deliciousness in front of you is destined for your thighs. Oh well — it’s worth it!

Whenever I am at Bondi Beach I have to treat myself to San Churro, they have the best dark chocolate milkshakes ever! The popular business namesake is the Churros with chocolate dipping sauce, that doesn’t really do it for me, I am all about the milkshakes. They offer milkshakes in two categories, classic shakes and real chocolate shakes. Skip the classic shakes you can have that anywhere and go straight for the real chocolate shakes, I was excited to see they have a new one, Dulce De Leche which is Chocolate and Spanish caramel, I did not order it though as I am a victim of the Choco Loco which is dark chocolate and chocolate ice cream shake, it is so good, thick velvety delicious. So perfect to grab one and sit on the beach.

I swear I’m not really a chocolate head and rarely buy a chocolate bar or block, but for someone who doesn’t eat much chocolate I sure seem to write about it a lot. This is because when I do it, I do it properly. No Milo for this chick, I want a hot, dark, rich, thick mug of goodness that the spoon will stand up in on its’ own. I want to taste the cocoa beans melting in my mouth…
As San Churro specialises in Spanish chocolate, the Spanish blend was what I selected to warm the cockles of me heart on a drizzly day. Combined with the warm Spanish-​style interior I walked out of there in a state of divine contentment. These people take their chocolate seriously!
