I love love love Vietnamese food. That’s why I got excited when I saw this restaurant. It’s called Taste of Phở so of course that’s what I wanted to try. I’ve been to Vietnamese quite a few times, it’s my favourite country to visit and Phở is my favourite dish. So we walk in and order our take away. Then waited. The lady serving brought out an order for the four guys who came in after us. It turned out to be the wrong thing so it ended up on the counter. They eventually got their, quite large looking correct takeaway order and left. We waited. About 10 minutes later the lady serving picked up the order she had mistakenly taken over to the guys … 10 minutes ago which had been sitting on the counter all that time and brought it over to us. When we questioned her about is she didn’t seem to understand and we just wanted to get out of there. While waiting I found it quite noisy even though the restaurant was not even half full. Lots of scrapping chair feet across the floor. Like nails down a black board. Also while I like that the place was clean I wasn’t too keen on the lady who was sweeping everywhere, even under the seated diners feet. Now to the food. We ordered 4. Phở Tai, fresh rice noodles with sliced rare beef. $ 10.95 for the medium. It was ok, not amazing. I wouldn’t order Phở from ere again. It wasn’t greasy which was good but the beef was very tough. 10.Bun Thit Nuong $ 12.95 char-grilled marinated pork with vermicelli noodles accompanied by a bed of fresh lettuce, cucumber, bean sprouts, mint and crushed peanuts. Served with sweetened fish sauce. OMG this was soo delicious! The meat was superb, so tender and tasty, the salad so fresh. I’d go back for this. Overall a bit disappointed. For Vietnamese it was quite expensive. There were only two of us and one of us does eat much at all so two dishes were enough for us might not be for you. There are now quite a few Vietnamese restaurants popping up around the suburbs. I’d try one of them before coming back here.
