Great yum Cha here, everything tastes good, service quick, prices are reasonable. Definitely one of the better ones out there

This place was visually amazing. Merely lining up in the foyer was a cultural experience in itself. Too bad the wait was about 45 mins. We had arrived at 1:30pm and didn’t expect to be waiting that long. The food was good but not one of the better dim sims I’ve had. Sydney has some stiff competition after all. The service was pretty emotionless and pitiful with us having to ask 3 times to get some chilli sauce. At just under $ 23pp with no drinks, I’d say it’s pretty average.

So we’d usually come here for Yum Cha but probably won’t come here again in a hurry. Honky husband was pretty disappointed when we went yesterday. We come here maybe once every so many months for yumcha and fairly satisfied by the steamed dumplings and the range of food. We spent $ 160 for 4 people(23 dishes!) — yep, we were hungry and that is a huge bill for yum Cha for 4. If that’s how much you pay usually, I’d say wow! So they get two stars for the food. They lose the review stars because despite spending that much they still charged us for tea and sauces per person at $ 2 each. So we didn’t finish the food and they also charged us for a takeaway container at 40c each. Now that’s not a lot but you’d think they throw it in for free? It’s the principle of it. They got our 40c and the $ 8 for charging tea and sauces this time but they won’t be getting our $ 160 again any time soon. Even though we’re not weekly regulars show some respect that we did just spend a fair whack of money. The bill was handled by the floor manager and not just a junior by the way. There’s places that exist that don’t charge for tea and sauces so we’ll be going there instead!

This is a place that only insiders know. You ask people have you heard of The Dynasty 90% of people won’t know. It’s weird. Yet this place is packed especially on weekends and public holidays. They have yum cha and also dinning so it’s pretty much a one stop shop for the south. The service here is pretty good too and unlike other Chinese restaurants you’ll always be able to find a waitress/waiter/manager to serve you. In fact, they serve you before you realise you need serving! Some specialties — strawberry sweet/sour pork and bamboo leaf steamed chicken. The place is also good for group gatherings but ensure you book for bigger groups. See you again in a month or so!
