I just love this place. So welcoming, inviting, serene and calm. It is quite airy too, and really great to receive awesome customer service in a professional natural health care setting. Truth be told, the staff do really know what they are talking about here. I came here as soon as I got off some antibiotics at one stage, and thus needed good quality probiotics (not the cheap stuff, and I was referred to come here by a friend initially) to bring my immunity back into balance. Straight away I was given options: I received two different options/​types of probiotics to use; and about a week later my body just felt so terrific and cleansed.
If anyone needed to buy some high quality vitamins and natural health care products; maybe as an alternative to some of the prescriptions: then I would highly recommend them to come here. In a convenient locale about a small stroll up the hill to Gladstone Park as you are heading away from East Balmain. Well stocked, and products are definitely well presented. The standout was the professional health and nutrition advice with great customer service overall. Would be confident in buying other natural health products here as well.

In a health conscious city like Sydney, there are many organic, healthy, and eco friendly shops scattered around for the average forward-​thinker to chose from.
Balmain Health Foods is situated on Darling Street near Gladstone Park. I was walking past the other day and the Thermo Trim Max diet supplement displayed at the entrance (at 15% off, I might add), reminded me that I was in the market for a liver cleanse or detoxifying tea.
As soon as I stepped through the doors, the saleswoman inside offered her assistance. I declined and elected to continue shopping. I got hung up for a second on the large selection of organic muesli and grains such as barley, quinoa, and brown rice, but was able to pull my easily distractible self away before I made too many impulse buys.
The tea selection was pretty decent. I did end up finding the detox tea I was looking for, though it was not cheap. I also picked up an African rooibos tea which is hard to find and is definitely my favorite.
In all, I wouldn’t step to say this is the most inclusive health food store I’ve ever been inside, but it will definitely suit your needs if you’re looking for something pretty basic.
