Espressolab

One of the more common complaints I hear about Annerley is that there isn’t enough of a café culture there. I say, Balderdash! There are three options of where to get your coffee from in the area. Espressolab is one, and it’s located in the western end of Annerley as you’re heading into Moorooka (turn left off Ipswich Road just before Chardon Corner Hotel). It’s a subdued, hole in the wall café that pumps out coffee and tea for the locals. If the service lacks in warmth, it makes up for it by being quick. There’s nothing too flash about the place, but it serves its purpose– and the coffee is generally ok. It depends on who makes it. It’s nice to be able to sit on the pavement sipping down some black gold while occasionally catching the smell of the bubbling fat from the fish and chip shop next door, and watching the leaves blow in the breeze.
