Found a piece of jagged metal in my food a while ago, took a photo but realised I forgot to leave a review. Called up and was treated extremely rudely by the staff, no apology offered. It’s now called Phoenix Charcoal Chicken, not Delish. I’m sure Delish was great.

There are times in a woman’s life when she knows things will never be the same. Like when she realises she’s met the«one». Or, when she discovers $ 4 smoothies. Seriously, only $ 4?! They’ve got a sandwich menu, but why would you go for a cheese and tomato sanga when you can choose from the salad and hot food counter? Tons of variety. Creamy mushroom and bacon pasta, beef bourgignon, crispy-skinned charcoal chickens with stuffing, lamb shanks… And those salads! Easily ten different kinds– red quinoa with sun dried tomatoes, fresh spinach folded with tangy mayonnaise and chat potatoes, homemade coleslaw with massive, craggy shreds of cabbage coated in a creamy sweet sauce, chickpea tabbouleh– the list goes on. They all look as fresh and tasty as can be. Deciding to dine in, I ordered a massive slice of spinach pie and for the BF a half-chicken meal, which came with two salads and chips. My spinach pie, I was politely informed, came with my choice of two salads as well. The nice lady proceeded to pile a tremendous amount of my selected coleslaw and chickpea tabbouleh onto my plate and when I protested, she sweetly told me that anything I didn’t eat I could take home(which I did). My spinach pie and two salads came to $ 8. For BF’s half rotisserie chicken, two salads and chips, total price was $ 11. We both took doggie bags home and ate our leftovers for dinner. When’s the last time you were able to eat a top-quality lunch AND dinner for under $ 20? A Delish fan for life.

It’s good for what it provides… cheap but tasty traditional beef burgers and fried food. And as the name suggests it is delish! The chicken has been a little dry on occasion, but the rest is A-ok.

Excellent old-school burgers — I have these far more than I should! Very very tasty. The charcoal chicken is also pretty decent. Chips are greasy but damn it, still tasty. There’s also a range of salads and great juices/smoothies for those who are more health-inclined. A great spot for classic takeaway!

Delish in Annandale is your old school, all basis’ covered takeaway shop, with classic prices to fit. A works burger goes for $ 5 and a Bacon and Egg roll for $ 4. The hot chips aren’t the greatest you’ll get in Sydney(a little sloppy and greasy — hangover perfect chips) but they’re ordered by the dollar i.e. «I’ll have $ 4 worth of chips» and you get a few for your buck, which adds country town corner-store appeal. I don’t know if I’d go so far as to say ‘gourmet’ foods, but at Delish the burgers are basic but good. Cheap and delicious. Done.
