Little Miss Dive Shop & Crab Shack was the follow-up project to Little Miss Miami, opening at it’s standing Frome Street location in mid-2015. It was a pop up venue and I thought I would visit this place before it closes up for good. Little Miss Dive Shop was such a hit with the locals as it was in the CDB of Adelaide. It was sad to see it had to close up as the building was going to be turned into a block of apartments. Little Miss Dive Shop is heavily decorated from the ceiling, to the walls, to the bars, to the bathrooms in very creative water theme such as boats, ropes, water gear, bath tub, deck, snorkels, aquarium, fishes, surf boards etc. Bascically, it felt like I was either at a resort or boat deck. They made good use of the space and there is always something to look and you could see the effort they put into the place, even the chairs and benches were made to look like you were setting on a boat or fisherman’s whaft. The bar, wine and food list are limited, so not much to choose from, there were only 3 cocktails on the list and beers were sold in bottles. There is a bit of space at the DJ area for music and a bit of dance, it’s such a great place to mingle after work with a beach theme going. It sort of reminded of 90210, the peach pit, Sadly, there were no Brandon or Dylan there. The food served there were burgers, tacos and fries which went well with the cocktails and beers. The staff were friendly and hipster like, so welcoming and polite. The bathrooms are decorated from top to bottom in the fish and water theme and very cleaned. There is a bathtub in the back where it grows lots of little plants. Pretty cool! It’s a place to be remembered and sad to see it go. Thumbs up!

I have been meaning to check out this bar for a while! I have always been a fan of the Little Miss projects. They are always creative, make good use of the space and offer something fun in a pop up style. Great to see that they are changing it up. Keeping things fresh always keeps the interest of your customers! It seems that Little Miss Dive Shop is decorated with all the nautical gear they could get their hands on! Buoys, rope, fishing net, etc. There is a cool little fish tank near the front bar. They also have a bar set up near the back that looks like a little hut similar to what you might find in Bali. Lot’s of tables available inside and out! Unfortunately the beer and wine menu is a little limited. There are no taps here, drinks are only sold by the glass or bottle. But, I guess that is what you get in a pop up bar. I just really wish they had some crafties on offer. My thoughts is that this bar is really set up for the weekend partiers. There is lots of space for dancing, drinking and dining. It will be great in the summer with the whole beach vibe! There are some nice cocktails on offer and well priced. There are even bigger versions that you can share with a friend. I love that! I haven’t eaten here yet, but the menu offers things like burgers, tacos and fries. The kind of things you want to eat while drinking. If you are looking for a good party venue in Adelaide, dive deep at Little Miss Dive Shop!

It’s part of the Little Miss adventures over the last few years, so of course it’s great. They just keep getting it right! Each venture they have is full of atmosphere, great food, drinks, décor. Always fun. The latest incarnation is no exception. I think these guys must have incredibly lateral and creative thinking brains to keep working around licensing restrictions and venue limitations. They managed to make an outside venue feel like an inside one for example! A venue that welcomes events such as the Short Film Festival preview evening is a good one in my books. I recommend popping in and soaking up the fun atmosphere over some tasty food and great drinks. Catch them while you can!

Divers do it deeper as the old saying goes and after a few of their specially formulated cocktails you might just sink into being back in your octopus’s garden! The ambience is eclectic and cosy but just a tad loud on the having to shout stakes! The burgers were like burgers really should be($ 14) and for a mere $ 3 more you can have a double. The chips were just what we needed and afterwards neither of us felt like we usually do when we have a burger. ie questioning why we did that to ourselves! It is clearly a great place to nip into after work with your mates, and if I was somewhat younger I’d be hanging out there to pick up some hot trendy guy, of whom there were many! The staff were very friendly, helpful and witty, not forgetting that they were also welcoming and polite and clearly loved working there. I will be definitely going again and recommend that you do too! It is a quirky little place and one of those finds that make you feel like it’s «your city». The toilets were spotless which is always a pleasure!
