Good place for a meal. Service was average but food arrived quickly. Good to see that they provide vegetarian soup stock to replace the pork stock that are served with the noodles. Strangely, some ramen portions are larger than others, like the corn ramen seemed a lot heftier than the seafood ramen, but then again, it’s served in a different bowl. Would give this place a 4⁄5 if they actually had fresh noodles instead of dried ones. But the bento meals are excellent and shine brighter in quality than the ramen.

Ajisen is a franchise ramen shop that serves below average ramen and has inattentive and disinterested staff. Not recommended.

Every month or so, a ramen fever flares up. Sad to say, this chain is the only cure I’ve found to my fever. Adelaide has two locations, and this one is located in the mall. Ramen broths are bland, other ingredients seem hastily assembled and eggs are not cooked right. While staff are nice and friendly they are not the solution to the fever outbreak. Lunch hours are busy, so come in a few minutes early to get your order quickly in!

Great Japanese Ramen and Don dishes are available here. This is the 2nd Ajisen Store to hit Adelaide(Leigh St is the 1st one) It’s hard to go past this for a decent value, decent sized serving of authentic Japanese street food. A good range of choices are available. Bento Boxes for a great mix of rice, salad, gyoza dumplings, yakitori chicken skewer and a choice of meat/seafood/tofu Or for something else. there are plenty of entrees available to suit all tastes(a favourite of mine is the Karaage(what I call JFC(Japanese Fried Chicken) Then come the big Bowls of Noodle soup a plenty — from Curry Beef Ramen Soup(YUMM) to vegetarian options, and of course the Rice dishes, the likes of the awesome Katsu Curry to Teriyaki chicken etc. Well worth a visit up Regent Arcade.

OK, the only reason I am giving two stars is because I found a fly in my soup(badoomtish) and they gave me a $ 3 discount. Not overly pleased about that. The thing is that the food here is always epically good! Paiku ramen is my utter favourite, I’ve never had anything bad here, apart from maybe the gyoza being a bit small.
