Lil Audrey

Group of 8 went for breakfast this morning. It was very quiet, only a few customers apart from us. Sat down and the waitress bought the menus and asked if we would like coffee/​teas. Placed order for drinks and waited. Teas, cappuccinos and hot chocolate came out and they were ‘just’ warm. About 10mins later the flat whites came out… Not sure why the delay. After some 15 – 20 mins the waitress finally came back to take our order. Then another 30+ mins before we even saw a meal!!! My friend and l ordered the smashed avocado, l ordered a side of bacon but it arrived without, so waitress said she would get it. Waited another 10 mins before any other meals came out. Then another few more meals arrived. About 10 mins after that the omelettes finally arrived and by then most of us had finished our meals… If a home cook can prepare meals to be served together, surely a chef should be able to ensure this happens. During the arrival of our progressive meals, l once agin asked about my bacon. Waitress went off to check then came back to say they had run out of bacon!!! Hello… a breakfast café on a Saturday morning at 11.30am running out of BACON! Meals in general were ok, but all were warm, not hot. We thought it strange that the café was so empty for a Saturday morning given the abundance of apartments around it, but after our experience we know why.

They are a really nice little café that is built into the Precinct Apartments near Victoria Gardens. The café is bright and cheerful with quite a few delicious snacks and a good lunch menu. The coffee is very good and the staff very friendly. It’s definitely the best little café within the local area.
