Gumballs

My partner and I love milk tea. There’s unfortunately not many boba shops in South Wales (maybe there would be like 1 in Cardiff) so I introduced him to the glory that is a delicious bubble tea while we were in California.
After doing a bit of shopping at Woolworth’s, he was really craving a delicious Coconut Milk Tea sans pearls. I agreed and we head to Gumballs and ordered.
What I got looked and tasted suspiciously like regular milk tea. I asked the counter and said «I ordered coconut…» and they said «yes that is coconut». Didn’t have an ounce of coconut flavour to me. The fact that they didn’t add pearls showed that they actually heard my order. I see 2 options here:
1) It was actually Gumball’s version of Coconut Milk Tea in which case it is awful and absolutely flavourless.
2) It was normal milk tea and they have no idea what they’re doing.
Both of which aren’t positive at all.
I came here a few months later looking at the different takeaway options they have available for my lunch break and immediately I had this guy come up to me and try to sell me different large combos with milk tea and didn’t seem to be having it when I said that I was just looking for something small. Learn to make coconut milk tea before you take on being a salesman, dude…
Regardless of my review, Gumballs’s supreme location within a shopping centre and being the only bubble tea shop closeby may still be worth a go every now and again. But every time I come to this shop, I leave with disappointments and regrets.
