The other reviews are spot on. The coffee here is great, haven’t eaten here but if the food is as good as the coffee it’s a 5 star.

Alright, I just have to say that First Pour is hidden in one of the most unexpected places that I have ever found a café. It is in the middle of a warehouse area with absolutely no shops or other cafés. It is all by its little lonesome. Pretty much, you have to already know about this place before you get there. It’s not like you can simply stumble upon it. Nevertheless, it is still a great café. I spent close to two and a half hours here on Tuesday just doing a bit of uni work on my laptop. I wasn’t sure which I did more: work, appreciate my coffee or look at all the espresso machines, aeropress, v60s, beakers, mugs, cold drip towers etc. This café was pretty much its own exhibition. The coffee here is great and the only place in Melbourne I know of that serves it. It is unique and a must try. I myself, just had a couple of magics because unfortunately the barista on duty wasn’t confident in making a pour-over. I didn’t mind that much, at least he told me rather than just doing it. I digress, the coffee is amazing. Food is nice and satisfying. They’ve got fresh baguette looking things, cakes, slices, sandwiches and more. Most of your typical simple café food. You’ve got to try this place out!

Down an alleyway surrounded by warehouses and a flurry of workers in high-vis gear you’ll find coffee that leaves you sticking your nose in the cup for the last foamy licks of a perfect latte. Next door to the Veneziano roastery, the air in the high-ceilinged-yet-cosy space is periodically punctuated by the tumble and crack of freshly-roasted beans, the tap and tamp of the group head and the pitter-patter of Melbourne’s frequently intermittent rain on the warehouse’s tin roof. Selling the obvious choice of coffee, they also do a wee array of foodstuffs(salmon avo bagels, chicken wraps, muffins) and have the hipster-standard décor of cacti in labware and splashes of pastel blues and greens(in retro shades, of course) for the sugar-bowls. Worth the trek out Skipping Girl way, bring a book, settle in and let the aroma of freshly toasted coffee permeate your pores! Free wifi: COFFEE-LAND Password: 2955124930
