Rasthof Freihufener Eck Ost

The eastern Raststätte at Freihufener Eck on Autobahn 13 is one of the least «cookie cutter» experiences I’ve ever had at a highway service area.
It’s compact with an open-​plan layout between shop and eating area, and — at time of my visit — staffed by a small team of very friendly German women. Given its provincial location, be aware that not much English is spoken here.
This is definitely the first time I’ve recommended a highway service area!
