My fav stop in Hamburg. Best vibes, good music, good people, lovely bartenders

eigentlich ein schöner Laden aber leider super unprofessionelle Bedienungen. Der Capi war zu sauer und wurde von einem Komplett frustrierten «Barmädchen» gebracht.
So schlecht gelauntes Personal kennt man sonst nur am Kampnagel Hamburg.

Wieso lerne ich die Location erst jetzt kennen? Erstaunlich!
Auf einer meiner Schanzenrunden endlich mal eingekehrt. Ich wusste gar nicht, dass hier ab mittags geöffnet ist!
Sehr ansprechende Location in dunkelbraun mit viel Leder, sparsame Deko. Entweder lümmelt man in Lederpolstern oder hängt am Bistrotisch ab, gerne am Bord direkt an der Fensterfront.
Erstaunlich, dass soviel Gradlinigkeit so ansprechend sein kann, aber ich fühle mich wohl.
Es wird gnadenlos geduzt, meinen Wein drückte mir die Maid direkt an der Bar in die Hand bei Sofortkasse, weil Schichtwechsel.
Die Getränkekarte (und so eine gibt es) ist klein und günstig, perfekt für einen langen Abend ohne arm zu werden. Happy Hour bis in die frühe Nacht.
Und schön, durch die großen Fenster das Schanzenleben zu beobachten oder gar gleich draußen Platz zu nehmen.
Wer mag, kann übrigens kickern und das WLAN-​Passwort wird an der Theke verraten.

Bin immer mal wieder sehr gerne hier. DIe Cocktails sind lecker, die Atmosphäre stimmt und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Auch Nachmittags für einen Kaffee ist es sehr nett hier. Zufällig habe ich letztens den Partybereich im Keller entdeckt, war sehr überraschend aber umso lustiger von oben ganz entspant mal in den Keller zu schauen und auf einmal eine wild tanzende Meute vor sich zu sehen.

es gibt viele bessere Läden. Diese Bar hat eine gute Lage und wahrscheinlich ist sie deshalb sehr gut besucht. Das Angebot Caipi für 4,50 E klingt gut, aber wenn man den Berg von den mit Limetten und Zucker gefüllten Gläser sieht, ist eh Nichts anderes als ein «Happy Hour» Zeug. Es sah so lieblos für Milionen Leuten gemacht aus. Die Gläser stehen schon über zwei Stunden (wahrscheinlich länger, war aber nur zwei Stunden dort…) so, bis sie weg sind. Ich würde lieber paar Euros mehr bezahlen und zu einer Bar gehen, in der es frisch und lecker gemacht wird. Und nicht zu viel Zucker! Das ist keine Rettung für einen schlechten Cocktail. Ich würde nicht nochmal hin, naja er ist eh oft zu voll. es passt.

Es ist jetzt irgendwie schwer zu beschreiben, meine Stammkneipe könnte das Goldfischglas rein emotional nicht werden. Trotzdem hat der Laden auch für mich was und das liegt nicht nur daran, dass hier immer noch eine ganze Weile geöffnet ist, während die meisten Läden in der Nachbarschaft schon lange geschlossen haben. Das Ambiente ist chillig, das Publikum, naja aus meiner Sicht zumindest, eher jünger. Trotzdem kommt man sich nicht verloren vor, wenn man einfach noch ein Bier, einen Cocktail oder was auch immer zu sich nehmen möchte. Für meinen Geschmack ist die Musik aber meistens zu laut, um sich adäquat unterhalten zu können. Das mit der Lautstärke mag natürlich von Ecke zu Ecke unterschiedlich sein. Geraucht wird hier draußen vor der Tür, so dass dort meistens den ganzen Abend über eine Masse an Leuten herum steht. Wer glaubt, dass es dann drinnen leer ist, der täuscht sich aber.
Die Preise sind ausnahmslos echt ok. Für die Biertrinker: es gibt auch ein Augustiner aus der Flasche.
Fazit: von mir, auch wenn kein Anwärter auf «Stammkneipe», trotzdem volle 4 Sterne.

Im Laufe des Schanzenfestes entdeckte die Begleitung das Goldfischglas und fand die Bar ganz cool.
Da wir (zu dritt) vor Antreten des Heimwegs gern noch irgendwo entspannt ein letztes Bier trinken wollten, entschieden wir spontan, uns ins Goldfischglas zu setzen, an der Bar laufe ich seit Jahren vorbei und fand sie immer ganz einladend. War also gespannt drauf, mal rein zu gehen.
So weit ist es leider nicht gekommen.
Begleitung Nummer eins marschierte schnurstracks am Türsteher-​Team vorbei, Begleitung zwei tat es ihr nach. Ich hintendran.
Mein prall mit Einkäufen für die Feiertage gefüllter Rucksack ist wohl aufgefallen und da wollten die Herren Türsteher gern mal reinschauen. Null Problem, das hatte ich erwartet. Hätte mich gewundert, wenn sie das nicht gewollt hätten. Alles gar kein Thema.
Habe also den Rucksack abgenommen und war grad dabei, ihn zu öffnen, da stellte der, der scheinbar der «Chef» der versammelten wichtig guckenden Menschen vor der Eingangstür war, fest: «Du bist ein Kerl!»
Danke, hätte ich von alleine trotz massiven Bartwuchses und im Stehen pinkeln fast gar nicht bemerkt. Da hat der Fuchs echt erkannt, dass ich männlichen Geschlechts bin. Ist ja verrückt.
Ich habe dann etwas verwirrt nachgefragt, ob das ein Problem sei und ob er oder seine Kollegahs noch in meinen Rucksack schauen möchten.
Antwort: «Danke, das wird hier heut nix, du kannst nicht rein.», dabei der abschätzigste Blick aller Zeiten. Einmal von oben nach unten mit Augen verdrehen. Das hatte schon eine gewisse Komik. War aber eigentlich nur arrogant und anmaßend.
Auch der Hinweis darauf, dass meine zwei Begleitungen bereits drinnen waren und eine von beiden auch durchaus männlich sei, hat da nichts mehr geholfen. Zum Glück habe ich die beiden recht fix wieder aus der Bar raustelefonieren können und wir haben uns dann was anderes gesucht.
Aber so von oben herab bin ich wirklich seltenst behandelt worden. Und vor allem nicht in einer völlig normalen Bar in der Schanze, ist ja nicht so, dass ich ins Vier Jahreszeiten oder das Hotel Atlantic wollte. Sturzbesoffen oder auf Krawall gebürstet war ich auch nicht. Da hat scheinbar einfach wem grad mein Gesicht nicht gepasst. Komm ich mit klar. Aber verstehen muss ich das nicht.
Ich geb denn meine Kohle gerne anderswo aus, ist ja nicht so, dass das Goldfischglas die einzige Bar der Stadt wäre.
Liebes Goldfischglas, danke, das wird hier heut nix. Morgen auch nicht. Generell nicht mehr. Denn jetzt will ich gar nicht mehr zu Euch rein. Ihr werdet es verschmerzen können, voll ist die Hütte bei Euch eh, seh ich ja seit Jahren. Und das wird Gründe haben, leider habe ich die nicht kennenlernen dürfen. Passt schon.

Eine sehr chillige Bar die zwar nicht stylish ist, aber die Cocktails sind lecker und das auch noch zu humanen Preisen.
Hier gibt es sehr nette Plätze auf den Fensterbänken und das Licht ist etwas schummrig. Ich fand es jedenfalls sehr nett und würde da jeder Zeit wieder hin.

Es wurde hier schon vielfach geschrieben, aber auch ich war sehr genervt. Die Musik ist einfach zu laut. Wenn es sehr laut ist und die Nachbarn auch versuchen, schreiend eine Unterhaltung zu führen, hört man sich selbst kaum noch. Einen schönen Abend kann man woanders wahrlich leichter haben.

Don’t really understand the bad reviews, cause I really liked this bar! They play really good music and have an underground disco section. If you don’t want wait behind the crowd to get your drinks by the main bar, you can go underground to get your drinks there as it was way less busy.
Prices are decent and staff is friendly. If I visited Hamburg again I’d probably return!

Eine Bar wie man sie sich in Hamburg wünscht, gute Location für nen guten Abend mit Freunden!

Seit ich 2006 in Hamburg aufgeschlagen bin, mein absoluter lieblingsladen!
Natürlich gibt es mal Höhen und Tiefen :-D, aber tendenziell ist das personal immer freundlich und hat zumeist auch ein lächeln für einen parat.
Die preise sind für die Schanze angemessen.
Die kleinen Highlights sind für mich am Fr. und Sa., die Minidisko im Keller und an jedem ersten Montag im Monat, die Leinen Los Acoustic Sessions.

Eigentlich bin ich jeden ersten Montag im Monat im Goldfischglas. Dann findet hier die Leinen Los — Accoustic Session statt. Die Bar füllt sich ab 19:30, die Sitzplätze sind ab 19:00 schon rar.
Dieser Abend ist einer der schönsten in Hamburg, da sich viele hübsche Menschen einfinden und zwei unbekannteren aber immer sehr besonderen Bands lauschen.
Wenn das Goldfischglas voller ist kann es recht laut werden. Allerdings hat der Umbau dieses Jahr viel bewirkt! Es gibt viele Schalldämmende Elemente die dir Akkustik wesentlich verbessert haben und eine Klimaanlage.
Die Bar bietet leckere, starke Caipis für 4,50 € bis 22:00 und einen tollen Karamellvodka.
Im Keller gibt es eine kleine Tanzfläche, die aber nicht immer geöffnet ist und wenn sie es ist sehr voll ist.
Die Einrichtung ist sehr verspielt, der Goldfisch begegnet einem überall!

Gedämpftes Licht und viel Trubel… es ist nicht so, dass das Goldfischglas ungemütlich ist, aber mir war es dort viel zu laut. Wenn man Glück hat, erwischt man einen Platz auf der Fensterbank — die restlichen Hocker sehen eher ungemütlich aus. Die Karte ist klein, aber fein — die Cocktails klingen alle sehr lecker. Bis zehn Uhr gibt es es Caipi für 4.50 Euro und Mojito für 6.50 Euro — also perfekt, um dort vorzuglühen. Angenehm überrascht war ich von den Toiletten und dem Weg dorthin. Es wurde viel Wert auf schöné Details und eine angenehme Atmosphäre gelegt. Nicht der Ort meiner Wahl für ein Date oder tiefsinnige Unterhaltungen, aber für den Start eines Party-​Abends mit Freunden ist das Goldfischglas top.

Ob in der Woche oder am Wochenende immer einen Besuch wert.
Caipi und Mojito Happy Hour sind super! Auch wenn es voll ist, behalten die Bedienungen den Überblick und sind immer gut gelaunt.
Im Sommer schnacken und vor der Tür stehen (drinnen ist es leider recht laut) ist einfach nur toll!

Boring drinks and very young crowd. We are getting old and our visit here did not help. The lamp were nice though. A thought: is is just the Germans that put all the booze bottles on the shelves behind the bar? Not helping the décor…

It’s Saturday night, the place is packed to the limit and the bar staff is doing an amazing job! Sitting at the bar watching them proves they are fast, in a good mood (occasional staff shots) and are making good drinks! Compliments, best team in the area I have seen so far (and I live across the road)!
Music, atmosphere etc flawless. Great place to kick off after pre drinks or dinner!
PS: and if the bar had known, a shared round of staff shots was offered to me and my friends shortly after posting my review! Glad I had nothing bad to say!

Kurz und knapp. Die Bar besuche ich gerne, wenn sie mal nicht super überfüllt ist. Die Preise, auch für Cocktails, sind in Ordnung. Und ein Lokal, dass Augustiner (o. Edelstoff) anbietet, kann nicht schlecht sein.
Dieses Wochenende habe ich rausgefunden, dass im Keller auch ein kleiner Clubbereich ist. Ich war nur kurz drin, weil es so voll war. Trotzdem gute Location.
Achso, das Personal ist freundlich und immer bemüht die Tische von leeren Gläsern und Flaschen leer zu räumen.

«Leinen los Acoustic Session» klingt schon mal gut. Ist auch gut gemeint. Junge Musiker/​innen wie Miu (Kompliment, tolle Stimme!) dürfen also im Goldfischglas auftreten.
Aber was bringt das, wenn das überwiegend junge Publikum lieber redet als zuhört? Jeder findet sich unglaublich wichtig und der Gesprächspegel verändert sich kaum — egal ob auf der Bühne jemand singt oder nicht.
Fazit: zu laut, zu voll und die falsche (monatliche) Veranstaltung am falschen Ort.

Musik zu laut um sich in Ruhe mit seinen Freunden zu unterhalten. Man muss schon schreien.
Preise finde ich eindeutig zu teuer.

Das Goldfischglas ist eine nette kleine Kneipe. Hier bekommt man das, was man in so einer Kneipe erwartet. Ein paar Cocktails, Bier und auch Cidre. Eingerichtet ist das Goldfischglas funktionell und es besteht die Möglichkeit, an einem Kickertisch zu spielen. Das Personal war bei meinem Besuch auch sehr freundlich. Ein Besuch im Goldfischglas lohnt sich!

Leicht und leise tröpfelt der Regen auf eine Straße in der Schanze, in der Bar schwimmen die Goldfische um die Wette und aus einer offenen Telefonzelle ertönt eine rauhe Rockerstimme die die Dunkelheit mit einer Version von «Amazing Grace» erhellt.
Der totale Wahnsinn und auf jeden Fall einer meiner besondersten Momente des Sommers 2013. Das Goldfischglas hat es möglich gemacht! Danke! Denn mit der neuen Verantaltungsreihe «Leinen Los — Acoustic Sessions im Goldfischglas» werden jetzt jeden 1. Montag im Monat lokale Künstler vorgestellt, um uns wie sie es nennen «…auf eine kleine Reise ins Ungewisse entführen zu dürfen». Ich finde so was einfach fantastisch. Die Weißweinschorlen schmeckten auch und waren gefüllt bis zum Rand, der Aperol (wenn auch in einem kleinen Glas) schmeckte ebenfalls und mit Viva con Agua wird auch eine gute Sache unterstützt.
Besonders geil ist auch das Hörerlebnis was jeden WC-​Besucher erwartet. Bloss nicht zu gut zuhören, sonst werden die Schlangen wieder soooo lang.
Tom Klose war wirklich große Klasse! Ein tollkühnes «Hemd» — wie er sich selbst genannt hat, was dem Hansewind huldigt und seine Klänge auf eine Reise schickt, dessen Ziele sich jetzt schon mal erfreuen dürfen…denn die Klänge rocken richtig rollig und bringen auch den letzten Maulwurf zum Hüftschwingen!

Another cozy bar on schanze, where you can hang out any day of the week and drink some nice cocktails or whatever you prefer.

Cool, hip and funky. We sat on sofas in the window and didn’t want to get up!
Reggae easing through the speakers, cold augustiner and friendly bar staff. We were immediately give a glass of free nibbles which is always an a+ in my book.
Wanted to have a quick drink and then meet friends but that turned into a few drinks and a change of plans, friends came to us and we chilled out and watched as the sun went down and the area came to life.
(One little note for the geeks: dyson airblade in the wc, for me its cool when places use up to date technology!!!)
Go there, you wont regret it!

Classic Schanze! I can honestly say that anyone and everyone from Hamburg has been here at LEAST once. Literally, at least «ONCE,» I repeat that. Even visitors have made their way to this bar and the allure is that well, you see it first when walking around the infamous streets of Schanzenviertel. The typical routes are three main roads of either Schanzenstrasse, Susannenstrasse, or Schulterblatt.
I think Goldfischglas is again popular because it has a club/​loungy feel and serves a good full bar at reasonable prices. There are plenty of places to sit, a dance floor downstairs, and a football/​kicker table for a male testosterone match or teaming up on a date couple vs. couple or girls vs. boys :)
I like this bar because the music is loud enough to listen to, but quiet enough where you can actually talk to people and socialize if you really want to. They used to have this cool table in the center that had a neon glow with these fish shadows that swam around and they added just enough water on top to get your finger wet if you dipped it in to touch the screen. People always played with it, because we thought you could control the direction the fish shadows would swim by touching the plexiglas screen, but i am not sure if that really worked or just mere coincidence, haha…
People here dress a a bit more trendy than other bars in Schanzenviertel. I feel this is where the preppy/​casual crowd hangs out. Overall, it is actually a good mixture of all different types and that is what I like, because there is always a different crowd every time I come here. Sometimes older, sometimes younger, some in hooded sweatshirts and some in polos with Hamburg style red pants, and sometimes just all of the above. It is also open late, so another reason for the popularity of the late night crowd.
They make nice mojitos here and the crushed ice is nice on a warm night!

Good place for drinking cocktails at night!

I’ve only had good experiences here. Don’t get me wrong, it’s obviously no Katze, but it is nice and spacious which is a good job as it seems to attract more people than any of the other bars in the vicinity. Downstairs is a cool room you can hire for private functions with its own bar although it does get mighty hot down there.
One thing Goldfischglas is sorely missing is a nice little outdoor area (like, say, Katze, to take a totally random example) but it DOES have an absolutely MENTAL electronic fishtank. It’s compensating in other areas, essentially.
Well worth a visit :)

I always come to this place when i get visitors in town.
First of all, its the first pub/​bar on the way to the schulterblatt.
second of all I love the aquarium. don’t ask me why? i just do.
FYI, if you’ve never been there, there’s an «aquarium» in the middle of the pub. Don’t mistake it for a table.
A couple of my visiting (girl)friends thought it was a table and ‘pouf’ put their bags into the water. Luckily no irreparable damages.
Anyway beside this warning (and anecdote) do go there!
Its nice, its fun, its packed, and its not too expensive!

One of the few good quality places on the Schanze. Not too big with a DJ inside, still it is not a club, but a bar. Cocktails are quite OK as well. It gets pretty crouded so make sure you go a bit earlier or around 10pm. They have a huge screen-​bar where when you move your hand the animated fish reacts and starts moving towards your hand. It is quite cool.

There’s nobody in Hamburg, who doesn’t know this place. Why? As you walk down the street at Schanze this bar is the first that looks inviting and worth trying. And I must say, it’s nice there, it’s stylish, warm atmosphere, clean toilets (i have to say that, cause there are so many bars with utterly ugly WCs). Can get really packed late in the evening. Really good crowd: yound, trendy and cool people, sometimes too cool. It’s not the cheapest bar, but also not the most expensive.

A pretty cool place near the Schanze. Your typical bar/​lounge concept with some interesting design concepts. Without going into details others have already written about, notable is that the crowd tends to be in their twenties (college kids), half the people stand out front so they can smoke and the bartenders tend to be quite nice (rare in Hamburg bars). The chick with half her breasts tattooed is totally cool and the Asian guy is always helpful. There’s also a small room downstairs which I found a bit claustrophobic. this is totally skip-​able. Definitely worth checking out though as it’s one of the morein places when it comes to the Schanze.

They sell Augustiner and good, cheap (before 10pm) cocktails. One problem seems to be that it gets a little too packed. We got there as early as 8pm (very early for a Friday night out in Hamburg) and even then we only managed to get half of the last table in the place. By the time we left, two hours later, it was so packed that you literally had to push people out of the way to get anywhere. Like a mosh-​pit.

Nice bar for an early evening’s night out. It gets pretty packed quickly, so arriving early guarantees you a place to sit and cheaper drinks during Happy Hour (until 22:00). I had a Caipirinha, which was large and delicious, for 4.50 euros.
I like this bar because of the unique «fish» tank in the center of the bar. Digital fish swim around the tank and digital leaves float on top of it. It’s touch sensitive, so the fish and the leaves react to your fingers. This is really my favorite bit about this place, which has everything to do with the fact that a large chunk of my brain never grew up with the rest of it and I still have immense child-​like fascination with these type of things.
Recommended for an early evening, but try to get out early, as well, or you’re going to have to arrange for a battering ram to force your way outside.

Cool bar on Bartelsstraße in the Schanze district of Hamburg. It’s quite dark, with semi-​comfy leather seating around the edges of the room, and inoffensive beats. The main attraction on a Tuesday night is the happy hour cocktails until 2200. I have to stress that happy hour in Germany is not the same as the UK — they are not half price. You’re talking around EUR 4.50 for a caprhina and slightly more for a mojito — but they are very very good cocktails. You can order at the bar and then get them brought over to you, so you are free to enjoy the trippy electronic fish tank! This is the centrepiece of the bar, and has shallow water in which you can put your fingers and get the fish to chase you! I’ve never seen anything like it…

I already passed this bar many times on my way to the schanze. Never went in because of the tight packed crowd.
Until last friday, I arrived early, lucky to find seats on the bar! Perfect setting, when you feel like drinking!
Around 10oclock it was getting more crowded, which only improved the chill, social atmosphere.
A goodlooking dj played funky background sounds, although, unfortunately, this is not the place to dance your night away… Perfect for starting off though!
The caiprinhias were amazing, so was the service (only woman!!!), and after some tequilla gold shots I was feeling like I wasnt able to leave this place ever again! Or else… come back for sure! Prices are reasonable, luckily!
Another reason I should go back… There was supposed to be an aquarium in the middle of the room (cool!!), I did had some thoughts. but yeah, to be sure, definitely have to come back to have a closer look!
